Motorola Hand Radio

The Motorola CLS - 1110 is a fine handheld radio. It has decent range and can be programmed so as not to interfere with other radio frequencies. More than the radio, however, I was totally sold on the customer service I got from B&H. It was as good as I could have imagined leaving no room to ask for more. Thanks-

The CLS-1110 2-way radio by Motorola is small, lightweight and easily accessible for my assisted living staff. If only there was a way to eliminate the protruding antenna (can easily get in the way), this would be the world's most perfect unit!

I have had several Moto phones throughout the years and Motorola has never disapointed.

As a Dyrt Ranger I get the opportunity to review outdoor gear. On this trip I took along my recently received Midland X-TALKER T75VP3 hand held radio’s. As soon as I took the radio’s out of their display box I could tell these weren’t anything like my childhood Walkie talkies. Camouflaged, compact and very sturdy feeling. They fit nicely in your hand. These radio’s come with rechargeable batteries. You can also use regular batteries if need be. The base that comes with the radio has the options of using alternate charging platforms in addition to plugging it into the wall. There are A LOT of instructions;) few important points are you have to be registered to use certain frequencies and there is a weather channel options BUT I will have to figure that one out when I have more time as right now it’s Greek to me.... Then we took our radio’s out to play. There was the obligatory “can you hear me now” as we stood five feet apart. Next on the East Overlook we split up and I was extremely surprised at the sound quality . Once again I was expecting the childhood Walkie talkie experience. However these radio’s sound awesome. On another trail, with trees , small hills and distance in between the sound and reception was just as good. I would suggest using something in addition to the belt clip included. It is sturdy but not extremely secure and I worried about loosing the radio when I hooked it to my belt. Overall I am loving this little radio, I will review it again when I have had a chance to use it in more adverse and different situations.

I know this is a photog case but, I use it to carry my Kx3 ham radio + Elecraft hand mic + Bioenno 3ah battery and CW Morse pocket keyer. The webbing area I use for the power cord, keyer cord and a small log book

I have two Kenwood mobiles I use on GMRS and love this desk mic. I don't like holding the hand mic so I got this. Very clear modulation and was simple plug and play. Thinking of getting second mic so as not to keep changing mic from radio to radio.

We use this radio in a group of sxs and four wheelers use hand heralds. We have had no trouble talking in our group. Had to add the external speaker only because of the noise of the machine. Only wish it was water proof. HINT HINT.......

Wanted a quality AM/FM hand held transistor radio to be able to listen to race announcers without having to use cell phones or cell networks. Works fantastic and provides great quality sound through wired earbuds inside my hearing protection. Also bought a splitter to allow two people to listen. Very happy with the quality.

I shoot multiple off-camera radio controlled Speedlites in a variety of ways, but never really delved into macro lighting. This Ring Light is amazing and makes it so easy to shoot great hand-held macro at 1:1. It changes the game and allows for hand-held macro shooting with great ease using ETTL flash. Just set the camera aperture to f/22 or f/25, speed at 1/200 (max sync) and ISO 1000. That gives you the movement freezing result at a decent DOF. No need for a tripod which is always difficult with macro outdoor shooting. It darkens the ambient background light and creates amazing perfectly lit results at 1:1 macro if you have a good macro lens. Macro shooting is always low light shooting because of the tiny apertures and fast speeds required. This ring lite has amazing results, all using simple TTL. I just wish it had the radio signal capabilities of the 600 Speedlites.

Got a pack to keep on hand for emergency use with a radio, lantern and flashlight. Will likely add another pack on my next. I believe they are good to have on hand due to 10-year shelf life.
