Motorola Talkabout Distance Dps Radios

Bought these for ski patrol duties in the winter and boating in the summer with the waterproof talkabout radios. Have not tested them in the summer yet but so far I like them. Not sure how waterproof they are, but they have been covered by snow and work well. Very rugged and useful - other patrollers have the cheap knock-offs and there is no comparison (those don't last very long and have poor quality). Only drawback is that the clip on the back does not swivel.

Great little radios, so far. Good range relative to similar Motorola Talkabouts.

I use Motorola radios for communication between crewmembers when on video shoots. When our hands are otherwise occupied with cameras, lighting, and audio, this remote speaker/mic makes portable radios more efficient and useful. This product works perfectly, with good transmission and reception.

Excellent radios so far but need more time to fully evaluation distance and battery life.

No complaints here. For DPs and ACs this is great to have in the kit.

We got these radios and couldn't be happier. We have used them camping and while jeeping when the jeep CB wasn't working. Pros: • Long battery life. These lasted longer than expected with just the factory charge. • Clear audio. These were used in primarily close range but between vehicles and the sound quality was super clear—no static or garbled transmissions. We could even hear other people from across the river as if they were standing right next to us. • Good distance. Obviously the number of objects between radios can affect your distance but for what we were using them for it was great and I would feel comfortable having the radios farther apart and still be able to use them. • We got a 3 pack! The more radios in use the more sites can stay connected • Easy to use. These radios have so many functions and abilities that it can get overwhelming but navigating the functions was pretty easy and the owner’s manual was clear. Cons: • We got a 3 pack but the charging cradle only holds 2. This isn’t really a negative but does require additional planning if you want to use all three radios and ensuring they all have the same charge. • Not really a con, but I may never utilize all the features that these radios offer, they are that awesome.

These radios are working great. The actual talking distance in a wooded area is about 1/2 mile. I love the VOX and the whisper mode. You can whisper to someone and they can hear you fine, and with the VOX mode you don't have to even key up. They do it automatically.

An awesome product! The distance is great between the the radios, and even works well with MXT-275. A Total win in my book.

Bought 10 of these for use in church security. Price was right, included rechargeable battery pack, and discreet surveillance earpiece with mic. For our use, they work well. Can't say for distance, but around the church and parking lots, no problem communicating. Will see how long and well they hold up, but happy so far. Only minor complaints would be the earpiece isn't that comfortable (tends to fall out due to stiff plastic tubing), and the volume control doesn't go full mute - still pretty loud even at min setting (with earpiece in use). Otherwise, the audio is clear and easily understood, at least at range we use the radios. Belt clip included, nice bonus. The battery cover can be a bear to get off until you figure out the trick, but at least it won't fall off. Very happy with these radios so far. Have a couple Motorola TalkAbout FRS radios, and I think these have better audio quality. They can communicate with each other, no problem. Not tested for long distance range, but more than adequate for our needs.
