This mic will pretty much blow your mind with how clean it records. The brass instrument clip isn't that great. It wouldn't stay secured on the trumpet I mounted it on. Plus, certain mutes will prevent it from mounting entirely. I'm sure the clip is very instrument dependent, so plan for backup mounting options. When in doubt, gaff tape. 5 |

For the price, this lens is the widest and best value on the market. The biggest problem with this lens is the moustache distortion that exists quite heavily. This is corrected using a number of online Lightroom Lens corrections. It is also true about the manual focus being off but I can give two reasons why this is mainly a non-factor for me: 1) I use the 14mm mainly for cityscape shots at narrower apertures. Even if the focus is slightly off, everything in the frame is still infocus. I did a test at inifinity, 1, 2, and 3 meter marks at f/11 and the results were almost identical at 100% 2) If you have live view, you can manually focus this so it is spot on. I can't speak any higher about this product. Amazing value, excellent results. 5 |
