Move Apple Music Library To New Computer

The sound, build and finish of these is positively incredible. Listening to my music library, with them powered by the marantz model 30 is like hearing it for the first time all over again. They have a pleasant roll off on highs, so everything is crisp, but nothing feels piercing. Mids are splendid. The low end leaves a little to be desired for sub bass, but that’s expected from this type of speaker. The lows this does cover are powerful and robust. The one quirky thing about them, is the feet are not attached. They are little spikes and platters that you rest them on. This means it is *always* a two person job to move the speakers. Not an issue, if you don’t move them often, but I could see that being a problem for some people. Overall though, I simply cannot recommend these enough. They are fantastic.

My purchase of these headphones was greatly influenced by Consumer Reports * rating (86/100) of the Grado Prestige SR80i headphones now discontinued by the manufacturer. These SR80e are the best sounding headphones I have ever owned! They offer exceptional value for the price ($99)! I use them primarily to listen to my music library on iTunes or to my music cds. I presently own an apple iPhone 5s smartphone. I have an apple macbook pro; a yamaha cdc-697 natural sound compact disc player; an apple tv; a yamaha RX-V567 natural sound av receiver; a samsung P51F8500 smart tv and Definitive Technology Pro Cinema home theatre speaker system all connected in one room. In another room there is an apple iMac connected to a Logitech Z623 speaker system. My music library is mainly jazz and classical with some r&b and pop. The Grado Prestige SR 80e headphones handled all with consummate ease. I can't imagine what I might not be hearing but the only headphones rated higher by CR (91/100) are the Grado Prestige SR 325e at $$. Not yet thank you.

First and foremost I love the sound quality that comes out of these relatively small speakers!  The way they equalize to the rims acoustics is awesome. Im tied into the Apple infrastructure and as you would expect it does a great job with my other devices or by itself.  I have my music library on iTunes match so the speakers can play my playlists or any of my music library by voice command.  My Apple TV sounds great through Homepod also.

I bought this to listen to my Apple Music Library. Setting it up was very easy. I wish that Sony comes out with videos on how to use it. It took me a while to play around with it. Good solid product. I don't have to get an additional streamer, dac or headphone amplifier. Highly recommended.

For those lamenting having to buy Apple Music in order to access their personal library, iTunes Match is still available and works perfectly with Siri on the HomePod. It’s only $25/year and accommodates libraries as large as 100,000 songs. No need for Apple Music.

New speed for my Computer !

My first NEW computer since 1991. My last new computer was an Apple Mac Quadra 840AV. I built my own Windows machines in the 90’s and 2000’s. Bought used Mac’s off eBay after that. 2007 and 2012 MacBooks. This is an incredible computer. I highly recommend it. Fantastic keyboard. Love it!

New computer required a new Spyder. This one worked well on the new Apple Big Sur Operating system with a new Mac Mini with M1 chip.
