Build Quality: The creator-kit is well made even though the base is made out of plastic. I was surprised that PD decided to use plastic instead of machined aluminum, but this setup should hold-up well as the Creator Kit is designed for phones and small cameras and not for heavy cameras. Functionality and Uses: Creator Kit Functionality: The creator kit requires the usage of either Peak Design's Everyday Case or the Universal Adapter. The phone mounting side of the creator kit has cleverly placed magnets and also has the physical PD proprietary SlimLink connector. This is a very versatile and well thought out accessory. My iPhone (with the Everyday case) satisfactorily clicks onto the Creator Kit when you take it close. The physical SlimLink connector ensures that the phone will not fall off of the Creator Kit. The base has a built-in thumbscrew that nicely tightens up the connection with a tripod or the Capture Clip. My uses of the Creator Kit: My favorite use is to mount the creator kit onto the tripod. You can directly mount this on to a tripod. If you have Peak Design’s Capture clip, you can mount the Creator Kit on it! Now, once you have that, you can then mount the Capture clip onto your belt and also onto the Peak Design hip-belt. A very interesting use case is to mount the creator kit with the capture clip onto your backpack strap and you can then start a video as you hike in the mountains. See attached picture. Also, the creator kit with the capture clip serves as a table stand for your phone. You could also use this as a table mounted tripod setup for selfies or group pictures.

Bought to backup all photography related photos, files, software and more. Copied all my movies and music to the drive (which was a lot) and still have 7 TB for future. The drive has worked flawlessly and is very fast. Completely satisfied with this product.

Bought the drive when I purchase my new laptop.  I needed to load software that I own onto my new computer.  Not really going to use it to watch movies so blue ray compatibility was not a requirement. The drive works as advertised and I purchased it for a very low price. A definite best buy.

Elgato Video Capture Device and its software makes transferring VHS Home movies so easy. Once you have downloaded the software and attached the Capture Device its only a couple of clicks and your making digital recordings on your Computer. Its really simple and I highly recommend this product if you looking for a good product to make home VCR movies to a digital format.

I essentially have my own cloud. I have loaded the PLEX software to organize my movies, music, and photos. This works well with client devices like smart phones and TVs. One of the first things I did on my desktop was to map the letter Z: to the NAS drive. Now I can copy files from my PC using Windows explorer. Another bright spot is the DLNA app on the NAS. It allows you to stream your music collection in the My Music folder to your receiver, provided the receiver has Heos.

I have been using this on my Mac recently to capture all of my old VHS movies and tapes, and put them on DVD using iDVD, and saving some of them to my hard drive. This is a great capture/conversion tool for the price. The hardware seems to be good quality, and the software is exceptional. For an advanced user though, the software might seem a little lacking but it is good for the price of the product and works fine.

I wanted to be able to transmit movies from my laptop to an Epson projector outside, on the fringe of my wireless network. It worked perfectly. Setup was easy and intuitive, and utilizing the iProjector software, downloaded from the Epson website, controlling everything was also easy. I had similar success connecting from my android phone using the android version of the same software.

Definitely the best investment for any content creator.
