Moving Os To A Different Drive

Installed Windows OS on this drive, and it is rockin it.

No issues, using as a backup OS drive

Coming from an older MacBook Air that recently stopped getting OS updates, I was a little apprehensive about moving to the Silicon CPU off of Intel, and didn't think I'd get much out of a new system in terms of efficiency or the like. Holy cow was I wrong. This thing is lightning fast, with an incredibly sharp display, with a comfortable, well-spaced out keyboard that just feels like quality. The smudges are hard to avoid on the Midnight matte finish, but when it's wiped clean it's beautiful. Couldn't be happier, the price was unbeatable, and the shipping speed turned out faster than promised. I did have to reach out to Apple to update the purchase date for warranty purposes, but Apple themselves made that so easy and painless, it took five minutes and that was that. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate!

OS is not loaded on this drive. Drive mounted in addition to drive that has OS installed. Just remember to download and use the Seagate Discwizard software to mount and partition the drive.

Good drive, but if you are a Mac user, be sure to reformat the Drive to MAC OS Journaled. It used to be the case that ExFat was okay if you needed to share a drive between a Mac and a PC user. But with the newer OS updates, my ExFat drives no longer read the data in Final Cut Pro X. What a hassle! I have to buy another one of these just to use it as a transfer tool so I can re-format my ExFat drives. That takes a lot of time and money. Hope that helps someone out there NOT to make the mistake I made.

Added this to an X570 mb along with 3 more terabytes of drive space for OS and games.

Works GREAT! But.......I have an older iMac running OS 10.15.2 and before ordering I checked all the information on the B&H website. Everything indicated the drive is compatible with OS 10.13 and later. OK, GOOD. Well, when the drive arrived, the box says: Compatibility: macOS 11+. Whoops! Could not find additional compatibility information on the WD website either. So, I thought about sending it back, or calling B&H but decided to plug it in and turn the iMac on.   Works perfectly. No problems of any sort. Great drive for the older iMac!

Picked this up as an expansion and it was so much faster than the other ssd I was using tha I opted to use this as my primary OS drive.

This is a very fast storage drive. OS installed and transferred flawlessly and B&H's price is very competitive.

Got it to keep my 256GB OS drive backed up with multiple versions. All good over a year later.
