Mt Rainier Weather Underground

We have a fabulous view of Mt Rainier from our home. I have been taking photos of the sunrise for years -hand held or a cheap tripod. The Manfrotto and 3 way pan head makes an incredible difference in the sharpness and clarity of the photos. It also makes an incredible difference in photographing the forest in the early morning light!

This thing is a beast. I took it on my last trip to Mt. Rainier and out on the North Fork of the Teanway River. It weighs less than my Promaster XC-M 525 travel tripod. Once you set it in place it just flat doesn't move. Solid! I elected to put a Leofoto LB-60N leveling base with a Sunwayfoto DT-03 two way head on top. Works great! The tripod is tall and more than enough height for me at 5' 10. Easily could accommodate someone over 6'. Well worth the money.

Having recently purchased this lens from BH, I have to say I'm very pleased so far with the quality of the lens. Made strip up to Mt Rainier last week and captured some images of the Milkyway. And at 2.8 on my Sony A7RM2, this Zeiss lens was razor sharp. So far, so good.

I have also the MT-03 but I prefer the Mt-04 because it is more sturdy with my Sony A7R5. For me it is the perfect travel tripod for long expo shots. It is small and light. Recommended.

I can’t take a photo of the brilliant blue sky, bright snow and the forest on Mount Rainier without the forest being just a dark shadow. With this graduated filter I can bring out the forest and not have a washed out sky and dull white snow.

My first use of the gloves was hiking up to the timberline on Mount Rainier after a snow storm to take landscape pictures at about 7500 feet elevation. My hands were toasty warm and being able to flip open the tips was like nothing ever before. I could easily select settings on my camera without exposing my hands to the freezing temperatures. As a result it was easy to get the pictures I wanted.

Great vest. I'm using it in an underground coal mine. It's like having an extra pair of hands. It distributes weight evenly. I use it for batteries, flashes, all sorts of accessories. There are no pockets for big lenses, but that's O.K. It would make the vest too heavy and cumbersome. It's pretty good at repelling lime and coal dust and water and is not likely to tear easily. Pockets are lined with soft material, which is easy on lenses. These vests are a little pricey, but worth it. They're professional gear and are made for rugged use.
