Multi room sound system

It was very hard to let go of my old "wired" hifi but I decided to move with the times and after much research and listening and a couple of bad purchases I invested in Sonos and have been very happy since. This Play 5 supports my music needs everywhere but the living room where I have a Sonos A/V setup. Reasonably expensive but Play 5 sound is top notch. Strong but well controlled base. Good stereo imagery and enough power to fill medium / large rooms easily. Devialet is perhaps better still but MUCH more £££ Sonos is very flexible with streaming app's and multi speaker / multi room options. I've moved from Apple Music to Tidal which the Sonos app handles effortlessly. One speaker is very good but I'm hoping to get a second Play 5 for my birthday (if only my wife would read this) so that I can run two as a stereo pair. I have a feeling two in stereo would fix my worst audiophile cravings. It is that good.

Wow is all I can say, exceeded expectations. I purchased a couple of play 5's and two play 1's, I was up and running with the whole system within about 45 mins. I have never been able to set up something that does a relatively complex job so quickly. Before purchasing I did a fair amount of research, I new I wanted multi-room so in the frame was Bose, Ruark and Revo. I was a bit weary about my partner not liking the Sonos because all functionality was pretty much through an App, at least Ruark and Revo have functionality on the system. To counter this the other systems have some way to go to catch up to the Sonos App, so that that was the factor that convinced me to go for Sonos. Once it was up and running all doubts were dispelled. The App is one of the best you will come across, very user friendly, easy to set up most streaming services - in our case Amazon Prime music - which integrates with the App beautifully. Radio stations are easily accessible and importantly my "non-tech" partner was an instant convert in terms of using the App, using multi-room and the quality of the sound. The only negative is that it is dependent on Wi-Fi connection we have BT fibre and on occasion it can cut out. This is easily lived with, as everything else is so good, and there is potential to improve this with the Sonos booster.

These speakers are great. They may be just a stereo system but they sound like more. The bass is full and lively. The speakers are clear and crisp in every detail. I spent far to much money on other speaker systems, sound bars and other things that I wish I would have known about these. I would definitely buy these again even just to have another pair for the living room. I can't wait to save up some money and build myself a theater room with the speakers that are offered by Klipsch I will never go anywhere else for my audio needs.

I bought this cable to connect my PC line out to my home stereo system across the room and it works great. It is made very well, the cable shielding is what you might call heavy duty but it's also nice and soft, giving it great flexibility.
