Mxl 993 Condenser Microphones

This was my second MXL portable microphone I purchased in the last year. The microphones portable and very effective.

I bought this pop filter to go with my MXL 870 condenser mic and It works perfectly. Fits the mic nicely and functions as a pop filter should. The construction seems quite solid as well. Very happy with the buy.

Is a little heavy, but that’s is perfect for the biggest microphones. Perfect for condenser microphones on the desk.

I have tried several different on-camera microphones (Rode VideoMicro, MXL, Sennheiser) and they all sounded awful because of the weak mic output level. The VideoMic Pro actually works because it has a switch that will give you a 20dB boost of the mic's output. This hotter signal from the mic allows you to turn down the noisy preamp on your camera and essentially lower the preamp hiss.

It's all about the value. I have heard people criticize MXL for selling low-quality microphones, but for the most part, I think those people are just snobby when it comes to mics. I have had great experience with MXL in the past, and continue to with this mic. Nice warm tone on the front capsule and a brighter, more airy quality on the back. It makes for a great, super inexpensive mic that is widely versatile.Sure, you can spend $200 more and get a better mic...or you can save that money and put it towards a new instrument!

Many years ago I bought the one for dynamic microphones and it has always served me well. Now I bought this one for condenser microphones and so fa it has been just as good. I love it!!!

We are using these condenser microphones for a 20 member church choir. The product literature was very helpful for us in assembly and future modifation of our sound system. The sound technician and I also liked the on-line tutorials that Audix posted.

We use Audio-Technica wireless microphones in our worship services. From time to time we have to replace the Condenser Miniature Microphone. B&H has exactly what we need at the best price.

I purchase this Rode WS2 for Rode NT2A mic. Is working superb with Rode large condenser microphones.

I had originally bought a pair of Samson CO1U condenser microphones and ended up returning them after attempting to record a piano only to find an incredible amount of noise. I tried to tweak the settings of the recording software for over an hour to no avail. So I tried a pair of AT2020USB's and found a night and day difference! The gain on the AT2020USB is a little on the sensitive side, giving some pretty harsh distortion when you go beyond the threshold. But once I had all of the levels just right, they sounded amazing! The AT2020USB may be a little more expensive than the CO1U, but the AT2020USB is far more superior in both sound and build quality. I can confidently say you will not be disappointed!
