My Passport External Hard Drive For Mac

WD 5TB My Passport for Mac USB 3.0 External Hard Drive (Midnight Blue) Purchased 06/10/2020: Backed up my data and storage allows for many additional activities and tasks.

I bought this to use with my WD 4TB My Passport for Mac external hard drive.  Perfect fit.

I am using this case to store my WD 2TB My Passport External Hard Drive. The cover is semi rigid which provides some protection against accidentally banging the hard drive, although I would not want to drop the hard drive. It also provides a separate area for storing the USB cable which comes with the hard dive. Very convenient.

WD 5TB My Passport for Mac USB 3.0 External Hard Drive. Easy install. Handles my 2 and 3Gb photo files quickly, along with other file transfers. It allows to use my thunderbolt port and speed to my advantage. Nothing is really fast enough for me but its a reasonable start at a reasonable cost with reliability.

I decided on using Western Digital My Passport Ultra for Mac 2 TB as exclusive external hard drive for Time Machine on my iMac. I have also used WD My Passport for Mac 2 TB as exclusive for my MacBook Pro. Both were easy to install simply by Google search for instructions How to install Time Machine on external drive. No instructions come in the package box. Both are working automatically. I'm happy with each!

I love everything about this external hard drive; it's the fourth WD My Passport drive that I have bought. I formatted it for my MacBook Pro and use it with Time Machine. It's fast, compact, it has a large capacity and it looks great. I'll be happy if this unit performs as reliably as it's three siblings.

I find My Passport external hard drive the most dependable and I already have two that are used almost completely.After looking at different web sites I checked B&H and to no surprise found what I was looking for.

I have been purchasing and using external hard drive for years. The My Passport is half the size with 4x the storage capacity as the first drive I purchased

Having had an issue with an older WD 4TB My Passport External Hard Drive, you may wonder why I bought another one. Well, turns out that I believe the issue with the older one was actually an issue with my iMac and OS update. After recovering the data from my older ED, I reformatted it, and it has worked flawlessly since. Let's just hope that it continues to. I purchased this one just to log my Time Machine back ups.
