My Samsung Monitor Is Black

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently upgraded to the Samsung 32” Odyssey OLED G8 Gaming Monitor, and the difference is nothing short of spectacular. The color quality is awesome, thanks to the OLED technology. Unlike normal LED screens that go to a dark gray when displaying black, this monitor achieves true black by turning the pixels all the way off. This contrast creates a more vivid and immersive viewing experience. The HDR support further enhances the color, making games and videos look even more lifelike. The monitor itself is massive compared to my old one, which means I can only run one monitor due to the size of my desk. But honestly, with a screen this impressive, I don't feel like I need a second monitor. One of the standout features is the 240Hz display. This high refresh rate lets my new beefy computer perform at its best, allowing for up to 240 frames per second. My old monitor could only handle 144Hz, so the jump to 240Hz has made gaming incredibly smooth. The difference in gameplay is noticeable, especially in high-impact games where graphics are a key selling point. The monitor also comes with its own USB output, which is super handy for plugging in a charger directly. Another great feature is the onboard media center, allowing me to install apps like Netflix and stream shows with the same stunning color quality and fidelity. Overall, gaming on the Samsung 32” Odyssey OLED G8 is a dream. The combination of true black, HDR support, and 240Hz refresh rate makes every game look better and run smoother than ever before. If you're looking for a top-tier gaming monitor, this one is definitely worth considering.

My laptop had a 2TB Samsung EVO 970 plus system drive and I bought this WD black to put in a USB enclosure. But before I did, I ran Crystal Disk Mark on the Samsung, cloned the system to this drive and ran it again on this drive. My laptop is only PCI 3 so I wasn't expecting the stated performance, and no surprise it didn't make those numbers. But it did perform a little better than the Samsung and ran a bit cooler also. So I kept this WD black as the system drive and wiped the Samsung and put that one in the USB enclosure. Now it's a few weeks later and so far so good.

You really do get what you pay for. I needed a monitor arm for my CHG90 samsung monitor and initially tried the loctek D7L which some users had had luck with for this monitor. Unfortunately, it couldn't hold the weight and broke when trying to add resistance to the vertical tilt mechanism. All roads led me to this ergotron monitor arm which is rated for up to 42lbs. Although this was double the price of the loctek, it was worth it. The build quality is exceptional - it feels very durable and well made, while also looking very nice rather than too industrial. Adding and removing tension is extremely easy and assembling this arm was a piece of cake. My monitor weighs in around 26lbs without the stand give or take and this stand has absolutely no issues staying where I set it after setting the tension properly. Form, function and aesthetic are great. My only small complaint would be that I wish bottom arm could swivel 360 degrees instead of 180, and I wish the arm fully extended to be slightly longer, but these are minor complaints. I would recommend this to anyone with a heavier monitor and I wish I had went with this unit sooner.

They make the best monitors hands down. Long time Samsung owner. Between their TV's I have purchased for years, and phones since my first s7 Edge. There great!

My previous monitor was a 60 Hz Samsung gaming, 1/2 the price of this one, but I can certainly tell the difference, both externally and picture wise. The bezels are super thin (except on bottom), easily adjusted without tools to tilt forward/backward, rotate 90 degrees, raise and lower. My Samsung had none of those features. The games look glorious and the RGB backlight, while not very bright, is a nice touch. The base is very heavy, so this thing is not toppling over easily when rotated as well. I would purchase again.

My 2 Dell 23 monitors were on the fritz, so I went with this 32 (well, 31.5) Samsung monitor. It's a GREAT upgrade for my usage style. I'm not much of a gamer, but I think this would still be a good relatively inexpensive monitor to play most games outside of the top tier game titles.

I bought this power supply since my stock power supply wasn't cutting it. My monitor would go black and I'd have to reboot to get the video to display again. In that regard, this power supply resolved the problem. Install-wise, it's pretty easy to install. Everything was clearly labeled. All the plugs worked as expected. It's quiet. It even came with cable management zip ties and velcro! I would definitely buy this power supply again. I wish the fan was on the bottom so the text/graphics were right-side up on my case. Not a big deal, but that's one thing I would change.

My son wanted a monitor for Christmas and was telling me to order it from another site for the black Friday sale. I bought it from B&H and also got this monitor free and the one he wanted was on sale for $50 less. He was thrilled to get this one as a 2nd monitor.
