Trying to find a sling that could stow a 16 Macbook Pro and camera gear was a pain, but this bag does it. I didn't want to go the backpack route because my primary mode of transit is subway rides, and you end up having to sling/unsling a backpack there anyway. This is a little more compact than a backpack. Has side access, so you can swing it around front, unzip, and deploy the camera. The rolltop is nice for stowing a raincoat or sweater as needed. I haven't used it as a weekender bag but imagine it would make a good all-in-one bag for light travel. Very durable material, water resistant, and plenty of pockets and customizable inserts. It's definitely not an EDC - you'll still want something smaller if you're doing a photo walk or doing street photography - but for schlepping into the office, working part of the day from a cafe, or going on a larger on-location shoot, it's perfect.

What I enjoyed most, is its versatility. Backpack handles are provided to use like a case or a sling for a single shoulder. All of these options are nicely storable, so nothing annoys you while using only one option. A rain cover is provided. The interior is velcro-based and easily adjustable. A small tripod finds its place, a laptop, a pad, and quick access for any paper-based map or similar things. The craftsmanship that went into it is on par with how it is overall organized-showing that Manfrotto does these things for a while. Just great, to be clear. It's a good medium size back, with enough room for little extra gear we all need for different jobs. I have yet to find something that I don't like. Very happy with it.

I went back and forth over the 55 or the 75 and opted for the 55. This case is huge! Tons of space. I carry it as a sling but it's made as a backpack. This replaces an older version I had for years. It's well made and I hope I'll have this for just a long as the last one

Not ideal when used on a rucksack, as it gets in the way when you need to remove the backpack or get in the back, however when i started using it on my camera sling (Mindshift), its perfect...I can leave it on and not have to remove. Agree with previous reviews and changing-out carabiners to a locking-type to ensure the strap doesn't slip out.

I used to have a backpack for my camera gear that was a sling bag and it always made my shoulder hurt after I had been carrying it around for a while so I decided I needed to get a new one. This was a perfect choice for me. It's pads are comfortable I can get to my equipment without having to ask people to hold things that are in the way and it also has just the right amount of room. And if I decide I want it to be a sling bag instead, the straps are movable and let me do that. It also comes with a rain cover, which while the contsruction of the bag is pretty sturdy makes me feel better if I'm out in the rain or bad weather. I'm very happy with this.

Bought these to add additional capability for carrying a camera instead of with the sling harness. Plans are to use these with a backpack (standard or photo) while traveling or on assignment. They are of excellent quality like all Op/Tech items.

If you carry a lot of gadgets along with a camera and a few lenses, this backpack works well. In its collapsed form it might work as an everyday backpack too. Lots of pockets and compartments make it easy to store power adaptors, charging cables, battery pack, card readers, backup external drive, cleaning cloth, brush for lens cleaning, pens, pencils, sunglasses (it comes with a hard case!). An of course my iPad and a laptop have their dedicated padded compartments. I use a sling back to keep my camera and extra batteries, so that I can easily take the sling out and leave the backpack at the hotel, when I go sightseeing. I can expand it to 30L capacity and then easily add clothes and other stuff for a 2-3 day trip.

Lugging around a camera backpack started to wear me down. The sling is soooo much more light weight, and practical. Bringing your camera with you everywhere will be much more pleasurable, and overall it’s a great modern design that compliments casual style.

I never owned a sling bag or backpack for my camera equipment. Last year touring the national parks changed my mind. I bought the low pro sling bag for my Sony a 7R2 with 24 to 70 zoom, 50 mm prime and 70 to 200 zoom, flash and miscellaneous stuff. Very comfortable bag, easy to navigate, well constructed. I’m pretty fussy but give the bag five stars.
