Got this especially to use with my ES-2 negative scanner. Don’t think I would use this on camera so purchased the Lume Cube mini panel. 5 |

I have always had a flatbed scanner, but when I inherited negatives from the living quarters of the Texas revolutionaries from 1850 and earlier, I knew I really needed a special scanner to get the best quality proof. The V850 arrived just as I was leaving on another job in Texas so I put one negative in and scanned it with the default settings. I actually forgot that I had scanned it to my phone. While I was waiting for my car at the valet one night in Texas, I used a free app to turn my negative into a positive and I could not believe the quality! Forget the fact that these were my relatives who helped win Texas its independence...I couldn't believe that the photo could have been taken yesterday due to the lack of scratches, dust, etc. Epson, you have really outdone yourself. I was going to use the fluid mount tray as some of these negatives are fragile, but no need. Glad to have it just in case. I just love this scanner! I cannot wait to see the 100+ negatives when we are finally printed. Texas is getting back a piece of its history thanks to Epson (and my wealthy German ancestors who wanted to fight for Texas and brought along a camera! :) 5 |

My daughter Veterinary Clinic Manager ask if I can put the negative over 300 frames into CD or DVD first I though that I have to scan the negative one by one then do another procedure in developing the negatives, since I never have photo scanner though I do vhs and 8mm conversion to DVD (juncd -) this is my very first time using the scanner for negatives. The process is very simple and easy to use it also develope the negatives I put in the scanner individually and goes to the folder you created. The cleaning process is awesome and very helpful. So now I am adding this Photo Scan to my Digital Service I highly recommend this V600 Photo Scanner by Epson to anyone you don't have to be scientest to work on this scanner it's very easy operations, and you cannot go wrong with the price. 5 |

This is a very good scanner for scanning color negative films. The resolution is outstanding, the contrast is good enough for negatives and with the bundled software is not too difficult to get great colors. 5 |

I have wanted a scanner for a while. I particularly wanted to scan old photos for which I didn't have the negative. I am very particular about color and detail. I scanned one of my favorite photos, printed from a slide. It had faded badly and was very yellowish. It scanned beautifully. I corrected the color and now it looks like it did originally. I like the options and it is very easy to set up and use. A great product that delivers. 5 |

I use this scanner for archiving a lot of 35mm Kodachrome and Fuji Velvia Slides. The color representation is excellent and the overall quality is very impressive. I also scan 35mm color negative film strips. The accurate color and brilliant end result are much better than the original prints. I have found the included EPSON Scan software adequate and easy to use so far. There is optional SilverFast SE Plus 8 software included yet I have not used it yet due to negative online consumer reviews. If it does what it says it will do on the packaging, my slides would hopefully look that much more impressive. The two things that I wish were different are the included slide and negative holders that sit on top of the scanner's main glass area. Each slide needs to be positioned just right in its respective place in the tray or the software crops the image more that you may want. If the slide is positioned in the tray with just a little bit of the white holder showing around the transparency, the software cropping does not happen. I also wish the film strip holder did not have an extra layer of glass and that you could just place the negatives in the holder by themselves. In all fairness to EPSON however, I did not notice any degradation of the final image though after the scanning process was complete. All in all, this is a very good scanner and I would have purchased it all over again. 5 |

I purchased this scanner to preserve family photos that have been languishing in boxes for years. I haven’t used the negative or slide functions as yet but the photo reproduction. Is excellent! 5 |

Have only one negative comment. When scanner is set on Auto, will not scan to legal size, only letter size. It does not seem to recognize a legal size from a letter size. 5 |

I see many negative reviews about the price or the film holders or this and that. Read the manual!!! Yes, it comes bundled with 3rd party software- none of which is required to operate the scanner just fine. You want that extra level? Sure, whatever. Install and sign up and do your thing. I have an interest but it hasn't been needed yet. The scanner is quite resolving and the results are quite good. I typically scan 4x5 and 8x10 glass negatives. The results are perfect for creating enlarged digital negatives. Easy to work with. Learning curve like any other piece of hardware. No big deal. Read the manual! Would I recommend? Absolutely! Do I think it is a worthy upgrade for another $300 over the 800? Yep! They also post Dmax which was a super important part of my purchase decision over others. Glad I did! 5 |

Works as advertised. The included scanner software (Silverfast) has a not-so-pretty UI, but it works very well and consistently. I'm using it to scan negatives from the 80s and 90s. The highest resolution give all the expected detail. The speed is good. I scan into their 48-bit RAW DNG format, so that I can process them later in Lightroom with full DNG quality At first I saw some yellow banding in some scans and thought it was the scanner, so got another type of scanner and the bands were still there, so my conclusion was that it was the negative's fault. Once I moved on to another negative roll, then the bands were no longer there... 5 |
