There's nothing special about this particular product. If you are buying it then you already know the speed advantage that thunderbolt offers. This cord does blend in well with your apple products and nicely matches the clean style of your Mac

Everything on this machine worked flawlessly out-of-the-box with Xubuntu Linux on the first try without having to install special software, drivers, or an app on my phone. The color registration is absolutely perfect. Black is Black! :) HP should take notes!

Worked fine on my windows 7 machine with USB 3.0 ports. No special formatting was required. I just plugged it in, it showed up like a typical external/usb drive, and I started using it. It's small, quiet and is powered from the usb port, which is very convenient.
