Nest Cam Home Security Camera Review
The Mermaid | 2024-06-19 02:26:15 |
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Eufy Security Floodlight Cam 2 Pro setup is quick and easy compared to the other cameras I’ve set up in the past. The instructions are clear, and the hardware you need comes in the box. Once it’s set up, you use an app to control your camera, its LED lights and can customize other settings. What I really love about this camera is the video quality during both the day and at night. Not to mention, you can pan and tilt the camera 360-degrees. It’s incredible! 5 |

A couple of years ago, I bought my first, SpyPoint, cellular trail cam. Magic! I’m not alone in using trail cams as passive cottage security, rather than for hunting. (After 50+ years, I had my first break-in in 2016, and purchased a regular trail cam afterwards.) I own a small, remote island in northern Ontario, about 700km from my home. Obviously, it is inaccessible during winter (...you know...ice). It is also solar powered, and all cottage power is shut down in the off-season, and sometimes between visits. There is no wi-fi, of course. Standard security cameras, such as those blanketing my home, are useless, there. My first, SpyPoint cellular trail cam allowed me to see real-time activity at the island, and it changed the game. Instead of waiting to get to the island to view the SD card, I suddenly had daily peace of mind that everything was okay. I’m not super-concerned about trespassing, but rather a tree falling through the roof of the cottage, or that kind of thing. In 2020, when the dock broke-free of its winter moorings after we’d already closed-up for the season, camera 3 alerted me, and I made an emergency trip to fix the dock, mitigating potential greater damage if it had been left ‘til Spring. Before SpyPoint, every Spring, as I neared the island, my stomach would be in knots, wondering what I might find. Now I can SEE that everything is okay, from the comfort of my living room. I see the deer, and the ice-fishing folks traversing my island with their sleds, to get to their spot. Whatever. It’s all good. I recently purchased my fifth SpyPoint camera for the island, and am here to purchase one as a gift for my sister, who is retiring to her rural cottage. I can’t recommend SpyPoint cellular cameras enough. Economical. Convenient. Peace of mind. What’s not to love? 5 |

I replaced a very old thermostat with this one and it was very easy to install. It works well with the nest app (I already have the security system, cameras, Yale X Nest door lock, Nest Detect smoke detector, blah blah) so it was an easy addition for me into the app. My MIL lives with us and is home all day and tends to turn the heat up very high and while I’m at work there is nothing I can do about it. Well those days are over!!! Right back to 68 degrees with a few clicks!! Hope to see a big difference in my public service bill!! 5 |

Best WiFi camera This camera has all the same functionality as a Nest cam and it also has a memory card in it so you dont have to pay for a service. The picture is very clear, notifications are easy and you can set it up for human detection, again, something you have to pay for with nest. App is very easy to use and for the money, this is by far the best option. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first home security system and I am loving it! The quality (both sound and video) is exceptional. I love that I can speak into the camera to my cat. Turning the camera and adjusting the angles is simple, too. I am pleasantly surprised with how well the quality is at night, also. The ability to record when I want is nice, and also I love the motion/noise detector. I feel much more secure now. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think ecobee products are pretty awesome. We were looking for a home camera/security system and so far these are exceeding our expectations. The sound quality is loud enough but not overbearing. Speakers on the camera provide adequate and clear sound. Camera quality is awesome. You can zoom and even track people which is really convenient. Door sensors are an added security which give us peace of mind and they’re not in your face which make it less noticeable. It’s super easy to setup and I didn’t run into any connection issues like I have in the past with other brands. I highly recommend these Ecobee products to everyone in the market for a home camera/security. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ecobee makes a wicked-good smart thermostat—one that doesn’t require an “optional” subscription to get the most benefit. The Ecobee SmartCamera has some really great features, too, but a security camera that can’t preserve forensic evidence of a crime—unless you’re willing to pay a monthly fee—just isn’t a good home security value. A security camera with a built-in siren is a great idea, too, but it won’t be very effective at deterring an intruder if it only operates when you push a button on your smartphone. Ecobee does get a thumbs-up for its privacy considerations: The Autopilot feature that turns the camera off when you’re home, and on when you leave, is an excellent feature. Integrating an Alexa-powered smart speaker was a good decision, too. But there are so many security cameras that are better than this one, even if they aren’t also smart speakers. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was thrilled to get this camera from Influenster to try out. I primarily use this on baby monitor mode because I live in an upper floor apartment, so home invasions are not a big security concern. The camera and app are very easy to set up and use. The design is intuitive. I mostly use this to keep an eye on my dog when I’m out of the home, and it works great! The ability to pan and zoom is awesome. I wish there were ways to turn it off/disable it temporarily when I’m at home, but perhaps I haven’t looked hard enough for that info? I’m not sure I’ll keep using this after the trial since home security is not a huge concern, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to test this Ecobee product. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the ecobee security camera as a backdoor camera in my home. we have another security device at the door and didn't want to disconnect that to set it up. The setup was easy and seamless. I would continue to use this as a backdoor security camera in the future so that me and my family feel safe. 5 |
