Nest Mini Turn Off Microphone

Off and on for a decade, I thought about making a Podcast. So when I saw this microphone at a good price, I decided to give it a shot. I record of an iPhone 6s Plus in GarageBand, then use iCloud to move the files to the Mac, where I use GarageBand to do final production. The Polsen microphone gets the job done. If I really do get into Podcasting, I will get a second microphone that is USB. For just playing around to learn about Podcasting, this is perfect. Would also be great for any audio voice recording - say interviews for print journalism or to record living history type memories.

I was torn between mini 3 pro and mini 2. Mini 3 pro is over my budget and mini 2 is not good enough for me. And then I find out this Autel nano plus. The sensor is actually pretty much equal to the quality of mini 3 pro. And the HDR is my favourite setting. I turn it on all the time and it boost dybamic range quite a bit. You do not need to shoot Log now. It is easier to grade this way. Obstacle avoidance is a must to me. It is ironic that beginner drone does not have this feature but beginner is the one that need this feature badly. It is really sensitive. Cool thing is that you can turn it on and off in the app at any point. Great drone if you want a drone between mini 2 and mini 3 pro.

A little more hassle than some of the turn key solutions (error, google nest) but pays off in amount of configurability.

The Nest is so easy to install. I had it up and running in less than 30 min. The quality is great , and the turn dial and touch screen are fantastic. I added the Nest app to my phone. I also purchased a Nest Protect. I feel so much safer and at ease knowing that family (and cats) are safe from fire, smoke and carbon dioxide! Thanks Nest

This is a great microphone. It does not require an audio interface. Simply plug it to your computer through USB and there you go! It also has an option for monitoring with zero latency. The default microphone sound level is too quite for my listeners. So, I use peace + equalizer combo software to adjust its dB output level (+18dB). I compared to my Rode Mini USB condenser microphone. Q2U had a more natural sounding and rich audio. Rode mini USB sounded little dull (or muffled). However, Q2U has much more ambient noise which requires more editing time at post production. As a teacher, I do not have extra time for that. So, I prefer Rode mini USB for my lecture recordings and I may use Q2U for broadcasting where recording is not a priority. Finally, this info can be useful to some: Q2U doesn't work with Notability on iPad Pro (3rd Gen), Rode Mini USB does.

Purchased the Nest Hub, along with additional Nest Mini's for the home. The Hub was a great addition to the kitchen. Setup was a breeze and now I can access my day, view who's at the front door and so much more! Thought the screen was going to be too small compared to the Nest Hub Max, but didn't see the added need for a camera. 10/10 purchase!

I had a few filters in the original boxes, but no real way to organize them. The Filter Nest Mini fit the bill perfectly. Like all of my other MindShift gear it is well thought out and made. If I have a complaint (and I really don't) it's that the single 58mm filter I have (for my macro lens) gets lost in the pockets of the Nest. Everything else is 77mm and easily seen and retrieved.

Have only had the filter nest for about 3 weeks, and have only used once, but it seems very solid and made with the same materials than my previous mini filter nest. I do like internal unit that can be removed when you are bringing your filters in a backpack when you need to save space. Also, I like the strap in the casing that let you attach your filter case to your tripod to have them at hand to avoid reaching into your backpack every time. All in all, a well thought product.

I bought several Nest Mini's for my home but wanted better, more rich sound in the living room. Very pleased with the results. Easy setup with the Home app.

The filter nest mini fits perfectly in the narrow compartment along the side of my Mindshift Backlight 36 backpack. This allows me to have filters protected but also readily available when I open the pack and also contained if I want to remove the mini to have it in hand while shooting.
