Netgear Wireless Router Firmware Update

I am very impressed with the RT2600AC Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Router. It was very easy to setup and update the firmware. It was so much easier than the troublesome TP-Link Archer AC1900 that I replaced. The Synology Router firmware does not require compression software. You just click find update and load it with the control software that is included. The dual bands are more than capable of handling many devices with ease. I have the Blast 150 Mbps package and my Xfinity speeds are now 230-240 Mbps. I am extremely pleased and highly recommend this router. I will buy Synology again. B&H is also fantastic. 5 |

I purchased this router because I had a netgear router previously and it was great. The reason I purchased this one was because I wanted to update my old router. I believe that netgear is the best router going and I will always have netgear. 5 |

Has 90+% of the functionality of a firmware updated router but with the addition of a modern interface. Very easy to setup and configure. Updates come monthly like clockwork. This router was fast enough to support two active VOIP lines, and over 20 concurrent devices, and has a boatload of features and available applications. I didnt even need to set QOS for the VOIP or streaming boxes / apps. Not even a hiccup. Throughput is more then enough for SOHO use. I have several PCs isolated from the LAN running VPNs to corporate offices. Speed is faster then the previous Netgear product. Ill be using this router for years to come. With a recent firmware update, the Synology RT2600AC now supports the latest Wifi encryption WPA3 and a wider 5GHz Channel width of 160Mhz. AMPDU, extended NSS and 802.11r has been added at no additional cost. This router gets better with each update. The Intrusion Detection is now out of Beta and supports many new advanced features with intrusion definitions downloaded weekly via updates just like an Antivirus. Synology makes great products and this one is a KEEPER 5 |

Wifi has been flaky on my Netgear R7000 since a firmware update. Plugged this in, set it up over my flaky wifi, then turned off the old wifi with almost 0 downtime. Easy. 5 |

I have the 2000 Delta Max setup as UPS. When I do a firmware update, the unit shuts down and router shuts down. The firmware update stops. Disconnect router from Delta Max before preforming firmware update. 5 |

Purhased this one because my old modem/router was on its last legs and my ISP was not updating the firmware on it like they should have been. This one has not had any of the disconnect that my old one was, I can update the firmware when I need to and it is easy to manage either from the app, or a hardline into it from my desktop. Again I say, SO FAR I LOVE THIS THING! 5 |

I have become a genuine fan of Synology over the past decade. Starting with a DS-209 NAS I bought in 2009 (that's still in use today), through the DS-716+ NAS that I bought in 2016; both units firmware have been supported throughout that entire time and have been dead nuts reliable. Not one issue in over 11 years. As I was already familiar with Synology's DSM, and I like it, I went ahead and replaced a sketchey Netgear Nighthawk AC1750; which itself, replaced another sketchy 2 year old Netgear router. The Synology RT2600 relieved all of my wifi related issues at the limits of the Netgear's wifi range, ended our 3x ROKU stream buffering issues, and made managing far easier with their superior DSM layout, and versatile setup options. Couple the fact that Synology continues firmware support for all of my old Synology hardware, and that none of their hardware has let me down, is reason for me to continue purchasing Synology products. I like this router so much, I bought a scond one for use in my company's satellite office. I will be purchasing another next year to replace our reliable Tenda AC1600 Shibby Tomato based router. I also like Synology's simple to use remote administration iPhone app. It is intuitive, easy to use. Synology also has an active and helpful blog with their Synology Community https://community.synology.com/enu 5 |

I have it teamed up with my Netgear Nighthawk router. Major lesson learned is keep your firmware updated and you will be operating seamlessly. (I learned my lesson). Highly recommended 5 |
