Network Traffic Monitor Portable

This modem has been great keeps everything organized so I can monitor WiFi traffic and anything in and out of my network.

The switch is am excellent addition to the network. We were a out to configure vlans and manage traffic.

I have this switch in my home network combined with a 16 port PoE UniFi switch and 3 UniFi access points. While a managed switch might be overkill for a home network, it allows me to monitor traffic on all ports and setup VLANs. With all the IoT gear on my network, using VLANs to separate out traffic will hopefully reduce the possibility of a rogue device taking down my whole network. In my situation, the fan on the switch has only come on at startup. By disabling unused ports, the temperature drops pretty dramatically. For anyone that is looking to upgrade their networking equipment, I'd definitely recommend UniFi gear and this switch helps consolidate my equipment under one product line.

Short version: It's well built, powerful, and can maintain gigabit download speeds across the network. Out of the box wizard offers easy setup, traffic analysis with hardware offload does not impact bandwidth speeds, and the CLI offers infinite configuration options. After a recent gigabit fiber upgrade, my rather long in the tooth mini PC running pfSense couldn't utilize the full bandwidth across it's internal to external ethernet bus. This may be a little overkill for a home network, but I wanted to be able to utilize the switch ports without degrading overall performance. Had some initial issues with interface configuration, the wizard created default subnets that were not what I wanted. This lead to some issues with ARP resolution after changing them. A reboot resolved that. The web UI is pretty slick, it's a major upgrade from both pfSense and residential consumer level products. The power is in the CLI configuration, and there is a learning curve for anyone coming from a consumer level product. I was network specialist 20 years ago, and had a lot of experience with Cisco routers, so some of it was familiar. There are still issues I have yet to resolve, for instance mDNS resolution of the router's name without re-broadcasting mDNS over my WAN interface. The built-in traffic analysis is handy, and with the hardware-offload does not impact bandwith across the switch or routed subnets. 100% recommend this router.

I wish this had been available when ii first installed my network. I handles a high volume of traffic with deep packet inspection and a host of security features. It does; routing, camera recording, voice over IP and controls access to doors. All in one easy to manage box.

Bought this one to use as a router/switch in my home network replacing a Netgear Nighthawk model. It's night and day in terms of resources and capabilities, from setting up VLANs and security measures as well as monitoring traffic in my home network and identifying which device is connecting to what and amount of traffic. Tech support is also great and I got a reply the same day I wrote to them with some questions. I'll very likely use Ubiquiti's Protect and cameras when installing this system around my house.

I had a couple of these before and now have them as the last level of my switched Gigabit network. They just work and make it much easier to see the network configuration and traffic.

Easy to manage and monitor all devices on network.

No thrown baseballs to monitor, this time of year. However, my 11-year old grandson did a great evaluation for me. I watched him get reliable and accurate readings on birds flying overhead, a low-flying plane landing at our nearby airport, traffic on a busy blvd. (500 ft. away)and traffic in front of the house. He enjoyed seeing drivers slow down quickly to our 25 mph speed limit! I even got steady and repeatable readings on a ceiling fan (11mph on low and 15mph on med.) Your imagination is your only limit with this gun.

The Cloud Key G2+ is a must have for any UniFi Network installations. We currently use it to monitor and manage the network, UnFi surveillance cameras, and our UniFi Door Access system. I love this thing and B&H is my go-to for just about anything electronic.
