Networking Equipment Companies

If you’re new to networking Unify is the way to go.

I use this for low power networking equipment to keep my Internet and networking gear running long enough to get the generator going. It works perfectly for a mini-PC (router) and 24-port network switch. Adding a wireless router would be fine too. I also put my printer on the non-backup outlet for surge protection. The wall mount is helpful for saving space as well.

Netgear is my go to for small business networking equipment. The same feature set and quality as the "big guys" but with a simpler GUI interface and more palatable price. This nice little POE switch doesn't disappoint. It has several Netgear Access Points connected to it and with advanced features line VLAN it fits nicely in with my SonicWALL router for a secure network. I'm an IT consultant and I use these products for all my clients. I have yet to be disappointed!

Ubiquiti makes the best home power user networking gear and surveillance equipment! Literally plugin and adopt and you are good to go. Couldn’t be happier with their products.

We are using this until to keep a handful of networking equipment powered up and operational during small outages & surges. It has proven very beneficial to have and has probably saved us replacing some equipment from some bad storms recently where we did lose other equipment not plugged into one of these.

Setup was easy. It serves multiple purposes and works with the various Unifi apps such as networking, surveillance, access and phones. I upgraded the hard drive to 5tb. That was super easy as well. This is a must if you plan on adopting any type of Unifi equipment such as Wi-Fi or cameras but don't want to deal with their gateway/router equipment as I use my own.

With networking equipment being hard to come by these days. I gave this a try because I installed a ZyXel firewall at a client's office many years ago and it refuses to die. The switch works fine so far.

As as CTO, I know my way around networking equipment and like other Chinese products, the Hikvision NVR is well designed and works even better than advertised. However, it is not for the novice. The documentation is limited and depending on the cameras that you select, they can be a challenge to connect. Most of the Hikvision cameras are set to 198.164.0.64 which will not be your normal IP subnet, and also not the subnet of this device. Also, most cameras are not DHCP enabled which means when you plug in your cameras they will take that address and then are not easily modified. I do have the unit connected to the HikVision Wireless Doorbell and 14 cameras and it works great. This is also integrated to my Creston home automation system allowing me to view any camera on any of my room automation panels as well as my TV's when someone approaches the door or rings the doorbell. Great capabilities, but unless you are a semi-professional, you could find yourself somewhat frustrated with the amount of work required to implement the system.

I used this product mainly configuring the initial setup for networking equipment on my laptop. I installed the driver on both Windows XP, and 7 without any issues. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

We have been very happy and pleased after recently switching to all Ubiquiti networking equipment. It has been a very nice UI to work with that has worked great for our small business. We have 3 of these units deployed throughout our buildings and have not had any issues with this model in the roughly 3 years we've had them throughout.
