Neumann U47 Condenser Microphone

This is the best mic I've ever had. I used this next to a Neumann u47 and preferred the smoothness and eq of this mic for my voice. I now have a pair. 5 |

connecting the condenser microphone, quite functional 5 |

This mic is awesome. I additionally have a Sennheiser MKH416 which has better noise rejection. This Neumann condenser has a preferred frequency response. As a result, this mic is very well suited to live processing with an Apollo x8p or Twin X. I also have a few other mics, but this one is amazing! 5 |

Use this to hold up my Blue Condenser Microphone. It's impressive because the microphone is extremely heavy #sweepstakes 5 |

I have used this combination boom and stand in the studio for more years than I can remember. It's like a Neumann microphone...it's not a studio without one. Tuff, smooth and easy to use. Nothing bad to say about it. 5 |

This microphone really captures the lows in my voice and sounds as professional as a Neumann 87..... Also, at a fraction of the price compared to the Neumann 87!! Great price for a quality condenser microphone!!! I use this microphone for the voice over industry. 5 |

This microphone is an absolute gem. The TLM 102 is the Neumann entry level microphone. It is a large diaphragm, side address mic, very small compared to its relatives. It is solidly built, but light enough to easily mount for a podcast mic, and never seems to get in the way of copy. It is my favorite mic for voiceover, as it gives a nice smooth tonality. I love the way it sounds without compression or sweetening. After micing guitar and violin, I can say it does a fine job with stringed instruments as well. For a Neumann, it is quite inexpensive; however, for a home studio, it is pricey. Is it worth the extra money? Although it was for me, there are other mic's with nearly as good performance in the $300 range. For voice work, I really like the Audio Technica AT-4033a, although it is larger and heavier. The Shure SM7b is great if you're looking for a smooth broadcast sound. I have also used and enjoyed the Sennheiser MD421, especially when I wanted a slightly brighter sound from a dynamic mic. These less expensive alternatives are worth considering if you want high quality sound, but don't want to spend several hundred dollars more. Having said that, I love this little Neumann, and don't regret for an instant having bought it. 5 |
