New Orleans Jazz Band Instruments

I took the chance & bought this tripod two days before a trip to New Orleans. B&H shipped it immediately and I got it in time. Here are a few pros: 1) tiny. Fit inside my small sling bag 2)nice materials. feels sturdy. looks great. 3)does the job. Steadied my GH4 with different lenses without a problem. Felt sturdy even at tallest setting. If youre on the fence, I'd get it. Very useful as a travel tripod. I have a main video tripod but I feel like I'd reach for the meFoto first cause of convenience/quick setup.

When you want beautiful travel photos that your phone can't give you, this is the camera. I traveled to New Orleans one year and got the best colors and details and didn't have to.carry my larger cameras. This camera is a win, win. Leah

For a long shoot in New Orleans, I was away from power all day. This batery held up to anything I could do during the day. With two of these and the BP-U30 (2hr version) I had 10 hours of shoot time even with the LCD on the Sony EX1 out and on. This is a MUST for anyone with a Sony EX1!

Arrived in great condition all the way to New Orleans in about 24 hours. Works perfectly. No complaints

It's very difficult to get 800 ASA speed film here locally, in New Orleans, any for for 35 mm cameras. I had to go to B&H in NYC to get an order filled & shipped. Took pictures at an indoor Gala-Auction event, indoors with many people. The pics came out great, and so much better than the 400 ASA film which is the only quick-speed now available in stores in this area. The indoor clearness and color developed extremely well. Recorded eight piece jazz band into my Tascam, no hums or glitches of any kind.

Came home from shooting a jazz band in a dark club in Bangkok and found that my 50mm Summicron with built in hood no longer sported its Leica pinch cap which must have fallen off and rolled away unnoticed into the shadows. This cap is a perfect fit, just tight enought, and I'm sure it's not going to do a runner like its distiguished predecessor. I like it so much that I ordered two more from B&H for my 90mm Tele-Elmarit-M and my 135mm Tele-Elmar respectively, both of which have rather annoying detachable hood and lens cap combinations that make them rather fiddly to change and the stock lens cap doesn't fit without the hood. If you want to avoid the hassle of these hoods, the Kaiser 40mm push on cap is the ideal replacement.
