Nikon 50D Manual

This is my first digital SLR. I have been watching canon 50D and Nikon D90 for a long time... right now, this price is really attractive. 5 |

From the start I noticed the attention to detail (inspection card hand signed by Zeiss employee. Didnt get that with my 1600$ 70-200 Nikon. The build quality of the lens itself is astounding. Manual focus is hard in general, but especially challenging at minimum focusing distance and f1.4 but its not frustrating. Live view is a big help for focusing but the biggest feature of this lens is that it motivated you to keep shooting and keep practicing. After 20 minutes my manual focusing has already improved. For the price you can buy a Nikon 50 1.4 with autofocus and have $300 in your pocket but after having owned said lens I eventually sold it and bought the Zeiss. This version of the Zeiss Planar sells for more than the regular ZF version however with this lens you simply lock it in, focus, and shoot. I once had a pro tell me to skip a manual focus lens and to switch my current auto focus lens to manual focus. I have tried both and it is NOT the same thing. Manual focus with the Zeiss is effortless and it only gets better as you use it more. Although price is a con for me, you get what you pay for and that is no exception here. If you want a 50mm capable of f/1.4 then look no further. The sweet spot for this lens is f/2. At f/4 I have unbelievable sharpness. 5 |
