Nikon D Camera Comparison

I was ready to purchase the Nikon D850 and normally purchase directly from Nikon. I checked with B&H for comparison, and while the camera body was only $3.00 less, B&H offered a basic kit which included about $250 worth of accessories for only $70.00. I ordered on a Sunday and received everything on Thursday, in perfect condition. An excellent overall experience!

I am very happy with this camera. I did a comparison between my Full Frame Sony A7iii and this camera, attached to both cameras lenses with apertures f2.8 to F4, and was pleasantly surprised that the Nikon D500 gave as crisp, clean , sharp and slightly better images than my Sony full frame camera. And most surprisingly, the colors are more pleasant ! I am also finding myself grabbing this camera more when I want to have fun shooting. I am noticing how pleasant and enjoyable to use the Nikon D500 with its ergonomics, the many buttons that make it easy to operate and change functions. I am falling in love with photography again because of this camera .

Have used Nikon SB-700s in the past and these Yongnuo speedlites are incredibly good value in comparison.

I am using it with a Nikon D700. Previously had a Tamron with the same zoom range....NO COMPARISON! It is very sharp and the VR gives me at least 3 stops. The only lens I take on trips. Expensive, yes but worth every penny.

I tried several no comparison

Installed on the camera and used it as soon as I got it . listening to the quality of the sound now compared to before there is no comparison.

Have had this lens three weeks & have been out with it several times already with it mounted to my K-1. It has exceeded my expectations. My only comparison is to my Nikon 80-200 f/2.8D (non-AF-S)mounted on my D750. Not exactly apples to apples, but close I think. The Pentax combo is sharper I think. Auto focus seems fast to me, but my only reference would be my 200-400 G AF-S VR f/4 Nikon on the D750, & that's probably not a fair comparison. The tripod collar is a definite step up from the Nikon in design & function. it's sturdier, easily removable, & the detents at 90 deg. intervals is very handy. This lens is noticeably heavier than the Nikon, but that's not important to me. The build quality & weather sealing however are, & this lens gets five stars in those categories. Highly recommended for K-1 owners if you can afford it.

this is a great lens. Build is very solid. The lens is heavy only in comparison to the native FE lenses (it's equal to the Nikon 85.) I personally like it more than he Canon 85mm 1.2. The only downside is that on the lower apertures the bokeh looks more ghosted than the Canon and Nikon up till F2. As someone else noted the Mitakon lens hoods are terrible and cheap. But the lens itself is the opposite.

I have purchased a Vello brand in the past for an older model Nikon and there is no comparison. The Nikon feels more solid as a whole, the switches and dials are tighter, and the finish is more refined and matched. I enjoy my task more with the Nikon equipment.

Nikon's foot was waayyy too small for comfort, and the lockup is just not tight enough. This foot is MASSIVE in comparison, and the arca dovetails are wonderful. It has the travel stop screws already installed and locks right onto to the lens. Makes a wonderful carry handle as well as a perfect tripod food. Nikon needs to take a page from RRS's playbook.
