Nikon Digital Camera D40X Price

I just started a Digital Photography class to learn how to use my Nikon D40X the remote has become my most valuable jewel, I have a tendency to shake and even when I press the button on the camera it moves and the remote has helped me not have to do so many retakes. I'm looking forward to using it in the BULB process of timed exposure in night pics of the stars movement they will appear to be streaking :-) 5 |

I broke the lens that came with my Nikon D40x and this is a replacement. Works perfectly! The price was about 50% less than I found elsewhere ... Great experience. 5 |

Use this on an older Nikon D40x that we picked up cheap. Fit was great, and the price even better! Protects the lens, without affecting picture clarity. Would recommend this product, and B&H to anyone I know with a camera! 5 |

Have a Nikon D40X I believe to be 10+ years old. OEM battery still holds a charge but backup battery I had did not. Planning to use the camera once more pretty heavily so decided to get a new back up battery. Was surprised could still get one to fit camera, being the camera is an older model. Saw reviews and decided to buy. Battery charged up nicely and once more I have a back up for a long photo shoot. Received battery pretty much over night. Good service and will purchase from B&H again for my future needs 5 |

I decided to replace my 18-135mm zoom kit lens that came with my old Nikon D40X camera that was also recently upgraded to a D5200. I never was very comfortable with the plastic mating surface and the contacts had shown to be unreliable on more than one occasion. (The lens not installed warning read out could be a pain when the shutter release button was depressed.) A quick lens unlock and lock motion would usually solve the problem, but your subject was typically long gone by then. This lens does have a more substantial metal locking base and the barrel has a tighter more precise feel to it. The newer lens has the same diameter as the previous one except it's a tad longer, that along with the slightly thicker D5200 camera body made it difficult to use the old D40X camera cover. The purchase of the Nikon CF-DC2 cover, which is a tad longer, solved this problem beautifully. 5 |

I love all of the storage that comes with this bag. I use it with my Nikon D40X camera with 2 lenses, plus the lenses for my new Lensbaby Composer and optics and flash mount. My standard Nikon bag was frustrating--not enough space to carry everything I needed. With this bag, I have a pocket for everything and on photo shoots it is comfortable and easy to access lens caps in a flash. The push out extra storage is handy, especially while traveling. I also love the look of the bag and that it doesn't look like a camera bag at all--thus looking less like a tourist... 5 |

I bought this for a very old camera, a Nikon D40x. I didn't see any other options available for that model, so I tried this. It fits into the camera as well as in the original charging cartridge that came with the camera. 5 |

This is an excellent lens for the price. Also a great upgrade for my D40x. At almost double the focal length of the lens that came with the camera...this lens only adds about 3/8 to the camera dimension. The pictures a vibrant and very sharp thanks to the occasional use of the VR function. I bought this lens right before our trip to DC and I was not disappointed. 5 |

I use this lens with a D40X. It works great! I'm relatatively new to digital photography and was looking for a lens to take nature (wildlife) photos. This lens works great! I've used with a monopod and handheld - the VR seems to do the trick. I used a friends sigma for a while and had problems with blurred pictures when at the 300 mm zoom level. Does not happen with this lens. 5 |

This is my first DSLR, having shot film since 1980, and so far, I really like this camera. Since I have nearly zero experience with digital photography, the learning curve has been very steep for me, but as I gain some time and experience with it, I am finding that it just works as it should. I have collected lot of Nikon glass over the years, and this camera can use it all, even my pre-AI 300mm F4.5 telephoto lens. which mounts just fine. The price and availability of color films is what finally made me decide to try digital. Had Kodak Ektar 100 not more than doubled in price, I would still be happily shooting color film and avoiding digital altogether. I still shoot black and white film, and will continue to do so as long as it is available for sale. But for color, the Nikon D780 will be my main camera. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase, and I'm happy that there are still DSLR cameras available for sale. I'm not very excited about mirrorless cameras. I guess I'm just getting old. 5 |
