I bought this to get back into macro photography. My previous Macro Lens was a Nikon 105mm G on a D300. Yeah, it's been awhile. This new Laowa lens exceeded my expectations. It is superbly sharp from corner to corner at most apertures. It is very well built. And I really prefer macro lenses to be MF only, which this lens is. This is by far my favorite macro lens for the Fuji X System. The only minor criticisms that I could make is that I wish it had weather sealing - that's it! 5 |

Lens is quite sharp. Appears to be as sharp as my Tamron 90mm macro lens when viewing the same subject at equivalent field of view. As this was my first manual focus lens for my Nikon D750 camera, I was pleased with the focus confirm feature and will probably use this lens more often than my Nikon 35mm f1.8 AF lens. 5 |

This is my third macro lens. I have owned a Sigma a Nikon and now the new Canon with IS. Lens is incredibly sharp and versatile. IS allows you to get super clear macro shots hand held. Manual focus is precise and accurate. Some complaints in the reviews about plastic construction. I am impressed with quality of build which meets L standards. Color and Contrast are excellent as well as bokeh. To get super close macro shots of insects and flowers it is best to use tripod because depth of field focus is so critical. 5 |
