I'm using the Vello with a used Nikon Kogaku manual lens and having a blast with it!

The manual focus and manual aperture take some getting used to but its a blast to use. I got it for night time shooting but I fin myself using it more and more.

Switching over from an entry level Nikon into this camera made shooting a blast! The manual controls on the camera bring a whole new joy to shooting. The picture quality is also very very good!

Does what it does! I love the large bulbous feature. It gives a strong blast of air and helps with some stubborn dust removal on your camera and lens. Although, not designed to be portable due to the large size. It is best left at home. They also have smaller portable size. An indispensable and safe tool that every photographer should have.

Bought the Ninja Ultra, Connect and Recording and Accessory kit in order to get full functionality: monitor, ProRes back-up of camera files, RAW recording, and Connect 2 Cloud. Don’t think I’ll need the NDI feature, but if a client wants it, it’s only a $99 add-on for HD. My only complaint so far: no manual as of July 2024. The Ultra has been out for months, it’s inexcusable there’s no manual. That said, the menu is largely intuitive and most things I needed to know can be Googled. I did have to contact support with questions a couple times and they always responded quickly with good answers. I couldn’t figure out why the record button was grayed out, and was told you can’t record on the Ninja until you either pair it with Atomos Cloud Services or press “Unpair ACS” in the Ninja menu. Key instructions like that should come with the monitor. The monitor is accurate to my Sony FX6 LCD, with a slightly better color match than my Odyssey 7Q+. I was concerned there may be latency, especially over HDMI, but a test at 23.98P showed the Ninja only lags by one frame whether connected by SDI or HDMI. The Ninja does get really hot, but even with the fan on auto it hasn’t kicked on during recording. Tested the C2C connection to Frame.io, a short clip showed up in Frame.io within seconds, but this will depend on WiFi speed. Awesome feature. Overall very happy with the diverse functionality of the Ninja/Connect system, it’s an impressive Swiss army knife with different tools for different jobs. At this price it’s a good buy and a great 5” alternative to my 7” Odyssey for run-and-gun shoots, while on studio shoots it compliments the Odyssey with C2C and 4K recording, while the Odyssey delivers the key feature of being able to display multiple camera feeds side by side.

I received my Nodal Ninja 6 with the Nadir Adapter, and the quality exceeds my expectations! I will echo what many others have wondered, what are all the extra parts for? Well, according to Fanotec, in their response to my email asking about the parts, their response was, they are just spares. Gray cap is a suction cup for removing bubble level. The Nodal did not include a manual in the box, however in their response email, they did attach a pdf of the manual. The manual is 34 pages and seems to cover most all aspects of the Nodal. I was wondering what the Nadir Adapter was, and thanks to the manual, it is the base of the vertical rail, which allows the vertical rail to be turned 180 degrees. The Nadir Adapter has a knob to loosen and tighten the vertical rail's base. That was just too logical for me. It did not occur to me such a functionality would be called an adapter. Unlike all the other panos I looked at, the Nodal Ninja 6 has upper rail and lower rail stops to secure the positioning of the no parallax position (once the stops are positioned and set). This allows the lower and vertical rails to be separated, and then easily reconnected, while keeping the no parallax position secure! So, as a real estate photographer and videographer, I highly recommend the Nodal Ninja 6 with Nadir Adapter. I would give it 10 stars if I could!!

Nice thing to have when you can't carry a camera manual. Portable, easy to use, insightful.
