This product was recommended to me by my MacBook Pro repair shop. I had had one speaker in my Mac Book Pro go out with a twice within a few months. He noticed I had the volume set on high and recommended this product to protect my internal speakers. He had purchased a couple for his children and was very satisfied with the product. When i purchased my speaker, I also purchased one for my husband. He had not been able to listen to his MacBook Pro without using a headset.
