I own the old Canon 75-300 IS USM, NON L lens. Though I've taken hundreds of shots with that lens, a lot of them of baseball games and also BIF's, and stationary wildlife, it's treated me well. 20 shots with this lens from wide open to f8, I am impressed. It's going to take a little time to get used to the weight, but the autofocus, AF speed, and color rendition is AMAZING! I have not heard a peep from the USM, nor the IS system while focusing. To me, compared to my non L lens, this thing is amazingly fast at AF. Most of the shots I took were at dusk, and even in low light, focused quickly. I couldn't be happier with my upgrade to this lens. As always, B&H came through. Obviously I need to shoot a LOT more frames with this lens to really find out what it can do, but so far, I got what I paid for, and then some. Would purchase again if needed, mostly due to B&H excellent service, prices and speed of free Expedited shipping. This is not my first purchase from them, nor will it be the last. I'm so happy with this lens and it's quality. Makes photography so much more fun. 5 |
