I Purchased this in order to expand the capacity of my MacBook Pro storage. My intention was to add an additional 2 TB of SSD storage. I was also looking for a FireWire 800 interface as my laptop is getting a little aged at this point. This housing fulfilled all of my needs and allowed me to add the external storage.
