North Central College Computer Labs

I'm an event photographer and mostly travel to locations in the North Carolina mountains. In the Summers I travel to a river about an hour away with my two 0350 Cube cases nestled in the back of my SUV. On location I use the cases as tables to hold my two Sony Snap-Labs. If I leave the location I can lock the Snap-Labs in the cases and not worry about damage to them by someone. In the Winter I shoot at a local Ski Resort and I use them the same way. They are extremely durable and easy to pick up and move with the two handles on either side.

Today my house in north central Florida is 75% humidity. That's because it's winter, the dry season. Most of the year, the house will be closer to 90% if I dare open the windows. Having recently developed an interest in film photography, all of my equipment is old... well cared for, CLA'd etc, but old and I want to keep it all in friendly, not hostile, conditions. Thanks to the sale on these dry cabinets and a B&H gift card, I was able to indulge in the 50L cabinet after reading the reviews. Mine came less than 48 hours after ordering with free standard shipping. It was very well packed and utter simplicity to start up. I placed three SLR cameras with lenses on, four additional lenses, and my film inside and still have room for another camera and a couple more lenses which I don't own currently so I have space for future purchases. Love the sliding shelves and the foam liners. The digital read out is large and the unit runs super quietly. Very happy with this purchase.

I have dragged this bag all over North and Central America. It's been rained on, splashed with mud, snowed on, overloaded, stuffed under airline seats, thrown in the backs of vans, and asked to carry everything from cameras to laptop computers and hard drives, books, and clothing. Sometimes all at once. I've made overnight trips with just this single bag from time to time. If you pack it right, the protection is just fine. I do use the Domke inserts for my camera and lenses. You might want to get the postal carrier attachment for the strap, if you tend to stuff it full of gear as I do. I now need to get a new bag. Not because this one couldn't protect my gear, or it wore out after six years. No, the reason I need to replace it is that a few months ago, our puppy got interested in it, and it now has several holes and a chewed-up strap that's about to break. So, I've been searching for a replacement, and after much thought, I'm buying another Domke F-802. It's The One.

I use this Epson paper every day in my college labs with Epson R1900 and R2400 printers. I can say that I've never had a problem with the paper being less than satisfactory with the correct ICC profile. For people unsure about professional paper, Epson is the way to go. My only complaint (if it can be considered a complaint), is the colors in some images can seem a little dull. It's not consistent, it seems.

I got this paper while in my college class, and printed some scenes I captured of Minnesota's North Shore. Warmtone really looks different from the normal pearl paper, so I'd suggest thinking about the subject before printing. In my case it helped to warm up a series taken on foggy days-I figured my grandma didn't want gloomy pictures in her living room haha.

I love these headphones. I use them on my computer for gaming and for music. Using a creative labs dedicated sound card to power them they really have a good clean sound. The bass is there with some thump and the mids and highs are there without being blown out or over shadowed. I have a pair of Audio-technnica ATH-A550z and I think the Tascam have a better sound. The fit is not quite as sealing as I would like but everyone has a different head shape so I know one size fits all usually fits none. For the price I definitely recommend them.

I have tried about 5 kinds of headphones in the computer labs at my school. They all began failing almost immediately - I still have a bunch of these from 6 years ago. Failure points on the other headphones include switches, volume control, straight cords, and thin cords. These headphones include no microphone - great, those fail too! Get separate microphones for your lab, they're cheap. I will not buy a different headphone for our labs.

My office is in the basement but there are a few windows (the windows face north and are at least 20 ft away from my computer). I've had the keyboard for a few weeks and it has stayed charged mainly from the overhead lights. This keyboard has an excellent feel to it and having a separate numerical pad makes it a great replacement for the Apple keyboard that came with my iMac.
