Northern Lights Photography Settings

I bought this to use on a trip to Iceland to capture the northern lights, and it worked perfectly, even at sub-zero temps! I found the settings to be slightly confusing to set at first, but after a few exposures I got the hang of it.

Most of my photography targets landscape scenery and northern lights. Lens is being used on a Canon 90D not a full frame camera. I was drawn to this lens by the reviews and the f2.8. I have not been able to put this to the total test yet but comparing photos taken with the new lens vs. the old canon EF 18-85mm f3.5-5.5 is just remarkable. Clairity and detail edge to edge is so much better with the new this lens. The constant F2.8 will be fun to work with. Auto focus is fast and spot on using the one spot focus. Looking forward to taking some nature shots when the snow stops for a few days here in northern Michigan. Can't wait for the next time the northern lights are viewable to get some memorable photos.

Used it to take photos of the Aurora Borealis(Northern light). Easy to adjust the settings.

Great lens! I use this lens for portraits, and taking pictures of the Northern Lights, and other low light situations.

These lights are great for a home video/ photography studio as well as out doors in different settings. They can be powered with battery packs (sold separately) or you can plug into the wall. There is an app you can download to control settings for brightness and coloration. Keep in mind that the app still needs some work. Dont let the app stop you though. These truly are awesome lights.

I bought this lens mainly to photograph northern lights. It works like a charm and no calibration needed.

I photograph the Northern Lights using a gimbal mount on a tripod. This means the camera is always in the horizontal position and that's very limiting. This rotating mount works perfectly. It's sturdy. All my Canon lenses fit. I can change rotation fast to compose images of rapidly-changing Northern Lights. I love it. Which I had it 10 years ago.

Bought this lens for picturing the northern lights in Finland. Despite many hours in -30 temps across several days, and frost on the whole lens, it kept working strong. I'm relatively new to photography, but I think I got some great shots, very sharp and full of color, plan on framing a few. My friends who are more experienced were impressed with the images. For my beginner status, I felt like this was a great value and would buy again.

Great lens for the price. Got to try it out the very first weekend with two nights of marathon northern lights, and it performed like a champ with both the Nikon D750 and D850. A bit soft around the outer edges, but that’s to be expected with a fisheye. Very happy with the purchase as I was finally able to get the entire sky in one shot! .

Purchased for photographing Northern Lights. Performs as expected and easy to use. A generic part would probably have worked, but I didn't want to take a chance.
