Being able to light my face at 4 feet at 9% power means that I'm pretty sure this bad boy is able to light my face through time and space and beyond. Also tungsten or daylight. Whew.

Powers my Sony 5 portable monitor

I'm giving it five stars for what it is. It's a polar aligned star tracker that can also be used for lunar and solar tracking (as advertised). I bought it thinking I'd be able to use it with a D3200 and basic lenses to learn stacking and very basic astrophotography w/out having to set up my large telescope. And, it sort of works for that purpose. I'll be able to learn - at a basic level - as it will allow me to quickly take photos. What I also learned was that to truly take advantage of the rig I'd have to upgrade my camera lenses at a cost that would equal buying a competitively priced triplet or doublet refractor. One feature I really like is that it's small, and therefore portable. Note, be sure to budget extra time as you go through TSA screening as the rig - with counterweight - will attract attention. My experience has been, though, that the TSA folks love to talk about amateur astronomy once they realize what it is. I'm probably going to look for a 90mm SCT or Mak that could fit on it for a truly useful portable scope. It seems to track very well for optical, and appears pretty good for basic astrophotography. Note... you'll need to invest in the adjustable wedge mount to go between your camera tripod and your rig. A ball mount just won't suffice.

Monitor is used everyday. lightweight and portable. Monitor can be use with AC or battery.

My team members each over 100,000 miles via air to shoots around the world and this goes on nearly every job. We love them so much that we have two. They fit in a backpack right next to our laptop and make true thru-the-glass prompting a do-able proposition anywhere! BUT one caveat... we stopped using the ipad and found monitors work far better. So each kit now uses a GeChic USB-powered HDMI monitor run like a true teleprompter from a hardwired computer. And on Macs, we run Presentation Prompter which gives us a true 2-screen prompting solution WITH FLIP for the monitor. When my guys aren't prompting, the monitor is great for production as well. I can't say enough nice things about the One Take Only prompters. We don't baby them and they've each lasted YEARS. Love that ALL of the parts fit conveniently inside and it's quick to assemble. NOTE: 90% of the time, we just mount on a light stand. Makes putting on/off camera ultra-fast. Also NOTE: the shield fabric is a little thin and can cause a reflection in the camera. We turn off any overhead (flourescent room) lights and usually put the screen cloth over the top of the hood just to keep any stray light from coming in the back. Love love love this.

if you need an open earphones to monitor while recording this one is a great product. note: it is an open headphones, so will not work so well if you have dead-room with an open mic, also if you need to shield room noise. This is for regular environment.
