I upgraded from D800 and D300 before that. D850 is a definitely a step up. I really like the camera so far. The body seems a little lighter than the D800.? I did not want to switch to mirrorless camera as I have accumulated a number of lenses over the years. Switching would require lens adaptor and the new lenses are larger and heavy so wouldn't gain much in weight reduction by switching. Functionality is similar to the previous DSLR so old dog will not have to learn so many new tricks! I was waiting for a new DSLR version, but I don't think they are going to make one at this point with resourced dedicated to the Z cameras. Focusing is quick and spot on. There seems to be an infinite number of ways to set up the camera for an individual's needs. In short, this camera is fantastic and probably last of the bred. I believe the image quality will be comparable to the best Z cameras. I would recommend to anyone thinking of upgrading but not wanting to adapt to the mirrorless version to buy it before they stop production. 5 |

I have a number of Nikon lenses, so in buying my first mirrorless camera I stuck with Nikon. I was a little leery, since it is their first version of this camera, but in working with it I find it to be extremely well designed with excellent performance. Ken Rockwell's review (see his web site) set my mind at ease before purchase with his extensive testing and commentary comparative with other cameras. This camera is well built and very intuitive. The controls are easy to find and use without having to dig into layers of the menu. The results are stunning. I'm glad I bought it. I didn't buy the Z7, since it is essentially the same camera but with a higher resolution sensor with would give much larger files at a higher price, which I don't need. 5 |

This little camera is truly remarkable. I'm a professional photojournalist and own a number of mirrorless alpha bodies; I bought this camera for hiking and skiing because it fits easily into almost any pocket. I've become disillusioned by iPhone images that are often flat and super saturated because of Apple's insistence on baking-in the HDR feature into their native camera app. This camera's image quality is outstanding and its 24-200 optical zoom is very versatile. They say the best camera is the one you always carry with you and if you're willing to pay the price (it is a bit expensive), it'll become the camera that doesn't leave your side. If you're looking to ditch your smart phone camera and its limitations, this little camera is for you. Highly recommend. 5 |

I have been looking at this ball head for a number of months as I have transitioned from Nikon to the Fuji Mirrorless cameras. The build quality is exceptional and just what I need. I have been using Kirk L-brackets on the Nikon bodies and they seem to work with the BH-40 lever clamp. Once there are choices available for the Fuji XT-5 L-bracket wise I will need to explore this further. 5 |

I have had a number of 70-200mm lenses over the years and have always been impressed with how versatile they have been. But this mirrorless version has taken functionality and performance to a new level. Extremely sharp through out the entire range. Just wish Nikon would start putting a better foot on this lens so I don't have to go out and buy a replacement. 5 |
