Nvidia Graphics Cards With Ray Tracing

The 6800 XT is in a sweet spot right now for 1440 gaming. If you find this card for $520-$560 you will not regret a purchase. The Nvidia 3080 offers essentially the same level of performance but costs approx $200 more. Any 6800 XT is good, but this ASUS model is a slice above the rest. Very well made with better than average cooling. If you want a quiet experience, AMD's Adrenaline software has a push button undervolt setting that works very well with almost no noticeable drop in performance. But this card also overclocks well if you don't mind the fan noise. People complain about AMD drivers, but don't believe the haters. That is a thing of the past. If you are considering a mid-tier card within the next year, this is a great buy right now. You can wait and see if AMD's mid tier next gen (i.e. RX 7600) will be a better proposition, but that might be a year from now. If ray tracing, streaming and some production programs are a priority for you, consider Nvidia, as they do it better, but you will pay more. The 6800 XT can still do ray tracing satisfactorily at 1440p in most games. (For example. I play Shadow of the Tomb Raider at max settings, with ray-traced shadows, and it is solid 60fps). 4K might be pushing it though for ray tracing. Overall a great buy you will be very happy with.

I have loved Nvidia graphics cards for decades and always buy Asus branded ones when I can. They have always been great hardware. This GTX1650 card is no exception. I got it because my older card wouldn't run Red Dead Redemption and this card runs it great...

Who can pass up an Nvidia graphics card with your choice of one of two free games?

For $500 on Black Friday this card is an amazing deal.  It is a real RTX ray tracing enabled video card. Typically runs at around 41 degrees C.  It can split resolution between 1080 on my 42 TV and 1440 on my ultra-wide gaming monitor at the same time.  I am very pleased with the looks and functionality of this new card from Nvidia/EVGA;

It's way faster than my 3080 FE by a considerable margin. I'll miss DLSS, but I should be good on raw power for several years at 1440p, and most games I play don't use ray tracing anyway (and the ray tracing is better than a 3090 anyway). So far drivers have been stable and I've successfully undervolted my card pretty significantly to keep temps low. Given what I paid for this card and getting a free copy of Star field, it was worth it. Do I wish I had a 4080? Kind of, but it was much more expensive and worse on any games that don't use ray tracing, so I'm happy for now :) I also managed to fit this in an NR200 in a mini-ITX build, which was surprising!

This was an upgrade from a Ryzen 2700x. Gaming graphics card has been Asus 3080. This Ryzen 5800x CPU gave my games a huge increase in frames per second. BFV - 2700x Ray Tracing off, lowest settings = average 110 fps BFV - 5800x Ray Tracing on, high settings = beyond 144 (monitor limit) Metro Exodus - 2700x Ray Tracing on, lowest settings = average 80 fps Metro Exodus - 3800x Ray Tracing on, high settings = beyond 144 (monitor limit) In 2020 I had been converting old 8mm family film to digital. I can't wait to see how fast it converts the files. I intended to buy the 5900x but most of my movie projects got completed during the long wait for a Ryzen 5K CPU. Since the more expensive CPU was no longer a priority I was thrilled to see this one become available. I had no idea how much my old 2700x was holding back my PC. The Ryzen 5800x is a huge jump in performance.
