Obs Studio Screen Recording Mac

Nice addition to my Mac for studio recording.

Magewell is the best. Set up in no time. works with my Mac Pro 2019, and OBS.

I'm using the Xcellon Pro Hub providing a second screen /display with a 2022 Mac Book Air with the M2 Chip. Everything works as they should, by connecting the Mac, wireless mouse and keyboard. Output Image looks beautiful on my 4K TV in my studio. This is also great when adding a second screen so my clients can select the images they want to purchase after a photography session while my MacBook is facing on the other side. The Xcellon Pro Hub plays 4K 60 seamless and they unit itself doesn't get hot, just barely warm in what I'm using it for. Plays 4K 60 with no problem. I have attached images along with this review if you want to see. The only thing I didn't test as a "torture" test was trying to transfer 4K files from a card or drive plugged in while watching a 4K video playback at the same time, but this is something that I will not need or see doing with this adapter. Transferring files is also a breeze and it is fast. The primary thing I'm going to use this adapter for is to serve as a secondary external display. And it does it flawlessly. Keep in min that, if you have an older Mac laptop with older M1 chips, the output will be limited to 4K 30 because of the M1 chip limitations. If your Mac has a M1Pro or M1Max or M2 will allow 4K 60, just like mine did. Very happy with this device. It will be extremely useful in my studio. Just moved from an iMac with an incredible screen and built in camera to a Mac Studio. Wanted a camera that would provide quality video. The 922 delivered. It looks and sounds great.

Works with OBS natively on Mac! The device itself is tiny, made of really solid stainless steel. The connection to a computer is an 18 reversible cable with two USB 3.0 male ends (NOT USB C). Adapter needed for USB C. Latency is normal, but there's no HDMI passthrough. Between this and the ElGato HD60+, I'd pick the ElGato (I now own both). USB C support + HDMI passthrough at almost half the price. Is it a quality device? Yes. Expensive? Yes.

Easy to use and works great. Using this to stream from my GH4 to OBS Studio. Great, simple streaming solution.

Just works. Plugged it into USB3, and the HDMI attached camera simply works everywhere I want to use it, like OBS Studio, Zoom, etc...

First i was a little skeptical of the magewell hdmi adapter, but after a few months of use, it has performed quite well. It does get hot, so i unplug when not in use. The magewell worked well with the native streaming from Youtube and Facebook through the browsers and it also works well OBS studio. The Roland V-1HD is quite simple to use and our operators were able to get to speed with it pretty quickly. My only gripe with the switcher is that it is pretty intolerant of inputs that do not conform to the format it is expecting to receive. Once i found that out, i was able to correct that by ensuring all of my cameras were set to 1080 30P. That ended up forcing an upgrade on an older camera that wasnt able to output 1080 30P. The V-1HD was able to work with that cameras 540P or 1080I outputs, but it required a level of effort that our newer cameras didnt need. In end, we just upgraded the older camera. The V-1HD also has an audio mixer built, but i found the inputs seemed to auto adjust the signal levels despite having a manual adjustment on the side of the switcher. it could have been something within my set up as i had too use a xlr camera adapter to convert the 2 channel xlr input to 3.5MM stereo in order to connect to the Roland. While the audio was acceptable, i resolved this purchasing a Dante AVIO usb adapter and just routing sound independent of the switcher to OBS studio. i still use the native audio from the switcher as a back up feed in OBS.
