Old Fashion Nut And Bolt Storage Drawers

I have attached each half of this product to a simple spring clamp. One by a bolt and the other by a hex nut, creating two functional baby stud clamps. They are very useful for attaching small light fixtures, that have 5/8 adapters, to a variety of structures. You may also use this to add a 5/8 stud to cheap tripods for simple light stands uses.

The kit includes a nut and bolt with no instructions about what it's for. Figuring that out is left as an exercise for the reader. One of the photos does show the nut in place, so it's not impossible, just not directly obvious.

This stand is built like a tank. Paint it olive drab and one would think it's a piece of military gear. The photo doesn't show the scale that well, but for those like me who were wondering the diameter of the legs' tubing, the largest section is about 1-1/4 inch diameter. Heavy stuff, which is what I wanted. Now, for the complaints about the tripod plate nut and vertical lock nut. Tripod plate nut is not as bad as some indicate. I have no problems clearing the camera body and I'm using a Sony shoulder mount HD camera on this rig. Vertical lock nut: Some complaints about the right pan arm getting in the way of this adjustment. That really isn't a problem. Out of the box I saw the issue and the right pan arm was in the way of tightening the vertical knob but it was a really quick fix. Here's the fix: 1.) Remove right pan arm 2.) Remove sticker covering vertical lock knob bolt (this is on left if pan arms are on your side of tripod) 3.) Use a black marker to place a small mark in the 12 O'clock position on the bolt head. 4.) Loosen vertical lock knob until the bolt head can just clear the socket it sits in (no need to remove the bolt completely). 5.) Advance the bolt head 1 notch in the socket and retighten vertical lock knob. When tightened, you only need a quarter of a turn to lock/unlock the vertical movement. 6.) Confirm the vertical knob clears the pan arm area when traveling in its quarter turn tighten/loosen zone. If it doesn't, repeat steps 4 & 5 until it does. 7.) Place right pan arm back on tripod. 8.) Done. I'm very happy with this tripod and have a similarly priced Magnus that is nowhere near as sturdy and durable as this one. Yes, this stand is a little heavier than the Magnus, but I'm not worried about the tubing getting bent or warped if someone or something bumps into it while the legs are fully extended (as I am with the Magnus). I don't see any reason to spend any more money on a stand for increased durability and stability.

Connections are all nut and bolt and can be easily adjusted with simple tools. Strong and sturdy. Legs are solid and opens to a wide diameter for stability. I use two of these with umbrellas for a compact lighting set up on location. Quick and easy to pack up and set-up. Two of these fit on my carry on - nothing to check in.

For the price you pay, you can't get any better. I mention the price because it is a hell of a feature and you get a great quality lens.Old fashion manual controls.

The Bolt P12 for my Canon SB-5000 is a must have. As a fashion photographer, I have not had to change the batteries on my SB-5000 since I got this. Wish I had it years ago. These drawers work great for storage on rack systems and are quite a bit less expensive than other similar models. I've got 10 of these now and will continue to use them to outfit my studio and mobile trailer. ...

I have 4 of these. They took the place of random storage in plastic bags and the bottom of drawers. I like them because they are waterproof and secure, yet easy to open without breaking a fingernail, unlike some other competitors. Not expensive and highly recommended.
