Older Long String Wooden Instrument

Really fantastic big string sound in the VSL instrument family.

Dust cover, stretchy material, pull string to tighten around instrument base. Plenty of slack to fit just about any keyboard 49-61 keys.

I use this on an older wooden tripod when I use a tripod at all these days. It's often with a 100-400 telephoto lens out in the field photographing birds. It's smooth and I rarely get frustrated because it impedes my panning and tilting as I follow the action. It's replacing an identical head I've used for years, but accidentally over-tightened and now it won't lock in place. So be careful about over-tightening.

I love old wooden frames for my prints and hunt them down in antique and second-hand stores. I frequently find nice older frames that have no points (fasteners) securing the frame's mat mounting board or else they have been crudely replaced with small nails or other less desirable hardware. In many cases, even if there are a few points holding the mounting board in the frame, they need to be replaced. The Logan Dual Drive Elite Point Driver works in excellent fashion to install points in these older frames. Even with frames that appear to be delicate, if you hold and put some pressure on the outside of the frame as you shoot the point into the wood, no damage to the frame occurs. This works well with the older wooden camera DSLR Small cage that the fx3 used to go with. Great little add-on piece that gives a few more mounting options. I appreciate the hot shoe connection.

I love love love this instrument. The sound and touch are the best I've seen. I plan to use this for a long time.

I purchased these cables in an effort to reduce the long string of messy cables on my desk. Why have super long cables if you don't need to? Less distance for electrons to travel and less likely to have RF/EM interference. I bought 4 of them and have been happy with my purchases.

I bought these just in case the ones that came with my straps wore out. It turns out, these things take a long time to wear. The string on this is a bit stiff, but that maybe due to the fact that it has so many layers.

I use it to keep a couple PortaBrace plastic pouches with video accessories and padded PortaBrace pouch for camera monitor, and a few other accessories to take along with me for any video recording I need to do for our church. The bag is sturdy and is quite roomy for the small size which I got. The only tiny little complaint is the string just feels too long or too thin. Once you close the bag using the string, you just have a long piece of string just hanging without an obvious place to put it. I roll up the excess and stick it back into the bag - a little annoying, I guess, but not a big deal at all, just thought I'd mention it. That doesn't prevent me from recommending this bag - if you need to transport random items that don't have their own boxes or transport containers, this is great for that sort of thing. That's what I was looking for and found it here.

I looked long and hard to replace the Smallrig wooden handle and wanted something ambidexterous, since sometimes I'll run with my Tilta Nucleus focus handle and sometimes I'll just run free with hand on lens, and haven't found anything nearly as comfortable as that worn in wooden handle. This beats that out. It's cushy, sturdy, and extremely comfortable in the hand. Time will tell how well this springyness holds up but I'm very content for the time being.
