I'm an old-school 35mm film kind of guy, but eventually graduated to digital about 10 years ago. I've found the miniature point & shoots are capable of producing great results for every day shots and when travelling, but, of course, typically lack the ability to be creative. When the Micro Four Third cameras gained more popularity with semi-professionals and serious amatuers, I loved the idea of acquiring a compact camera with manual controls, a relatively large sensor, capable of using interchangeable lenses. Initially, I planned on buying a Panasonic GF-1, but when it was discontined (what a huge blunder that was), I looked more seriously at the Olympus line-up. With the added refinements and new features the E-PL2 offers over the E-PL1, it was a no-brainer. I've had it just a week and am still reading the manual every night -- trying to get a grip on the incredible capabilities of this camera. I'm heading to Honolulu in 3 weeks and can't wait to use it there. The engineers at Olympus have done a magnificent job in terms of style, design, control layout, and overall build quality. Buying the E-PL2 was one of the smartes purchases I've ever made. 5 |

I have been an 35mm SLR user since 1964 and an Olympus digital SLR user since 2004. I have eight Oly digital lenses and this 14-35mm f2 lens is the ultimate. Output at all f-stops from 2 -11 at any focal length are spectacular. You will not notice too great a difference on a 4x6 print; but on an 11x14 and 13x19 prints you will notice, as they are phenomonal. Clarity and color accuracy are superb. I thought the 11-22mm lens was excellent; but this 14-35 lens is in a class by itself. Photos with great contrast are easily handled. Indoor low light photos are a piece of cake. Other reviews of this lens have criticized its low light focusing. When I tried the S-AF focus option on the E-3 in low to very low lighting, the focusing was definitely slow; BUT when I switched to C-AF focus option, the focus was dead on and immediate with all focusing and exposure options at all f-stops I tried. In other words, there is no focus problem when you use the camera properly. If you buy this lens, it will be on your camera 80-90% of the time, except when you are shooting wildlife, distance sports, etc. Then you can use Olympus' superb telephoto 50-200mm lens (100-400mm, 35mm equivalent)--couple it with the great Oly 2x extender for a 200-800mm, 35mm equivalent. Folks, don't believe all the negative comments about the small sensor used in the Olympus DSLRs -- when you can print fantastic 13x19 photos (and larger sizes, I'm sure, but 13x19 is the largest my Epson R1800 will print), why bother with a full frame Nikon or Canon beast, unless you'r a professional sports photog and money is no object. For the rest of the camera world, the Olypmus E-system with fabulous digital-specific lenses are way more than adequate. I can't say enough positive comments about this one-of-a-kind lens. You will not be disappointed with this lens. 5 |

Had one of these when I also owned a 4x5 Horseman view camera many years ago. Decided recently to get my Olympus 35mm OM-4 T refurbished to shoot black and white film again so rationalized purchasing this meter. So far it has helped me obtain consistent exposures when using the incident light method. Expensive but won't let you down... 5 |

everyday use for any subject matter. great for landscapes. i traded in an Olympus E-500 DSLR, (2 lens kit)=28-200. i got some pretty good shots with it but there were certain drawbacks with the Olympus and they're photo editor was limited. my trade in cost me about $ so now i have a Canon platform to start over. years ago when i shot 35mm film it was different. anyway, i got a Rebel XT with this lens as Kit. i understand that prime lenses are sharper but i'm an amateur. i can still get great photos with this lens. took some night shots and the clarity, even at high ISO, was great. there's even a funtion to reduce high ISO noise on the camera. while the funtion is on you have to sacrifice sequence shooting, but who shoots sequence in low light. if i get to shoot a wedding ever again, Canon has great inexpensive 50mm, good reviews, (88mm-equiv' for 35mm). some have mentioned barrel distortion. SET THE FOCAL LENGTH TO 24MM AND STAND FURTHER BACK !. USE YOUR IMAGINATION 1 TIME, :). sometimes i want barrel distortion in landscapes, it's dramatic. GREAT LENS... 5 |

This 35mm equivalent lens from Olympus is an instant favorite. I like the wider angle, which is suitable for a range of applications. The build quality is superb and the metal casing is a nice touch. 5 |

With this adapter I was able to reuse old olympus lenses such as Zuiko 35mm,50mm f/1.4,135mm f/2.8, Tamron 80-210mm f/3.8 and 500mm SP f/8 with my Nikon D7000. I was amazed with the results. Best buy for the money. 5 |

I have an Olympus 14-35mm f/2.0 for my E-3 and found that the performance was extraordinary as a prime quality zoom. No flash needed for existing light with the E-3 Image Stabilizer. So, I began to imagine the potential of having that kind of quality at f/2.0 in the 35-100mm range. I tried one on an E-3 for a moment and then just ordered one! The Olympus 35-100mm f/2.0 is a perfect complement to the Olympus 14-35mm f/2.0 and now I am considering getting a second E-3 body! 5 |
