Even tho I was a little disappointed I did pre-order the E-5. I was thinking Oly would come out with an 18-24 megapixel, 10 fps shutter speed camera. I realized I am using the 10mp E-3 and printing 17 by XXXX photographs that were superior to my friends higher mp better selling brand cameras. I received the E-5 in October 2010. Having used this for a little better than 3 months I have put it to the test, in as far as how I will be using the camera. I must admit, I would have liked 8/10 fps but 5 was good for me in the past so it'll have to do. One thing I haven't touched yet is the movie mode. I was going to put this down as a con (for me) but who knows, I might wake up tomorrow and try it and like it. What I look for in a camera is 1. RELIABILITY my Oly OM1, bought in Feb. 1973 after being discharged from military madness, 38 year old camera is in excellent working condition. I have not had a problem with any of my Olympus cameras. Unless you want to count the time my E-510 crashed to the concrete from 6 stories. I have had a couple Cannons and Nikons along the way which no longer work. 2 COLOR RESULTS which Oly's are true to life. I shoot 90% RAW, JPEG when the situation arises. I was very impressed with the JPEGS right from the camera. Oly's JPEG's were always the best - these really did impress me. 3. EASE of USE. Going from E-1, E-510, E-3 to E-5 it is part of me, or maybe I'm part of it. 4. CAMERA/LENS combination. In my view Olympus/Zuiko is tops. I seldom go over 800 iso so I'll leave this alone. I must admit I came close to falling for the megapixel myth. Olympus made changes where they would truly make a difference. One last thing. The mirrorless systems have caught my eye. I will be watching. As always, B&H your the best.

The testing was done using an Olympus EM-1 II. When mounted on a tripod and using a release cable, no IS, test through the full range at different apertures turned out fairly sharp, with not too much fall-off at the edges. In A-B comparisons with the Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 the OM 12-100m f/4.0 fared reasonably well. Shots through comparable ranges, mostly at f/4.0 and f/5.6, again showed them close, with maybe an edge to the 12-40mm. A big difference, though, was when using C-AF&TR mode, the 12-40mm was consistently better. Using single shot for both gave essentially the same results. The purported additional IS with the lens/camera combination did not seem to make one iota of difference. The 12-40mm and the 12-100mm seemed identical at lower shutter speeds. Repeated testing under a fairly controlled environment (static target, consistent lighting, etc.) confirmed this. The 12-100mm seems to have slightly less contrast than the 12-40m. Final conclusion is the 12-100mm is worth the cost and compares well with the 12-40mm (which I've used for years so am very familiar with), but the 12-100mm requires a little more work to get the same results. Shipping firmware version is 1.4, same as the original Olympus 12-100, which is consistent with this being the same lens, just relabelled with the OM Systems label. I'd give it a 4.5 if that was possible, compared to a 5.0 I'd give the 12-40mm.

I have this type of folding lens hood for my Canon film camera and wanted the same type of lens hood for my Olympus digital camera that I use quite a bit, as I didn't care for the hard lens hood it came with. I also ordered the wide angle lens hood for the digital also, but haven't used that one yet. With the 'folding rubber lens hood', I can leave it on my camera all the time, till I'm ready to use it. I've used it when taking close up shots of flowers and it helps with blocking the glare. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants something quick and easy to use.

I have been an 35mm SLR user since 1964 and an Olympus digital SLR user since 2004. I have eight Oly digital lenses and this 14-35mm f2 lens is the ultimate. Output at all f-stops from 2 -11 at any focal length are spectacular. You will not notice too great a difference on a 4x6 print; but on an 11x14 and 13x19 prints you will notice, as they are phenomonal. Clarity and color accuracy are superb. I thought the 11-22mm lens was excellent; but this 14-35 lens is in a class by itself. Photos with great contrast are easily handled. Indoor low light photos are a piece of cake. Other reviews of this lens have criticized its low light focusing. When I tried the S-AF focus option on the E-3 in low to very low lighting, the focusing was definitely slow; BUT when I switched to C-AF focus option, the focus was dead on and immediate with all focusing and exposure options at all f-stops I tried. In other words, there is no focus problem when you use the camera properly. If you buy this lens, it will be on your camera 80-90% of the time, except when you are shooting wildlife, distance sports, etc. Then you can use Olympus' superb telephoto 50-200mm lens (100-400mm, 35mm equivalent)--couple it with the great Oly 2x extender for a 200-800mm, 35mm equivalent. Folks, don't believe all the negative comments about the small sensor used in the Olympus DSLRs -- when you can print fantastic 13x19 photos (and larger sizes, I'm sure, but 13x19 is the largest my Epson R1800 will print), why bother with a full frame Nikon or Canon beast, unless you'r a professional sports photog and money is no object. For the rest of the camera world, the Olypmus E-system with fabulous digital-specific lenses are way more than adequate. I can't say enough positive comments about this one-of-a-kind lens. You will not be disappointed with this lens.

I recently purchased an Olympus ep2 camera and the Hadley Digital Bag for it and the optional lens too. This shoulder pad is an excellent addition to this already steller quality bag. The Pad keeps 'slippage' to a non issue. I would recommend this Pad as a great addition to an already great bag, I just wish that at this price point it would have been included.

I purchased an Olympus PEN-F as a personal collector item. No I'm not a collector, but I wanted this camera because of its superb performance and vintage appeal in a modern digital camera. It is a silver trim body to which I added a silver Kit lens and a brown leather 1/2 case. It looks fantastic and since it was one of the few digital cameras offering an old fashioned screw type remote shutter release, I had to add the final touch. That showed up in the form of a beautiful, natural wood, Soft Shutter Release button. The PEN-F is now complete. TAH DAAH!!

The LI-50B Olympus battery is a great addition to my Olympus Digital camera. It gives me plenty of Back-up power for longer than normal photo sessions.
