I purchased this little gem to support a 500/4 and a DSLR on a monopod. It was up to the task!

If you are an Olympus DSLR Camera user, this is the camera to have. It was just the right upgrade to replace my E510.

I was looking for an affordable macro lens for my Olympus Evolt 500 and I found it! My main hobby is fly tying and then I photograph them. The clarity and detail are amazing! The details in the feathers are unbelievable. I have shared my photos with some pro photographers and they were impressed with the image quality. A definite buy!

As an owner of an e-500, I was looking to upgrade within the Olympus system and, in limited use, the e-620 is everything I wanted and more ! The IS system has already enabled me to capture shots that I could only dream of before. So far ,I am VERY pleased with the camera, my only gripe being the battery; I now have to carry TWO different batteries, chargers, etc. Low light AF could be a little better, but for the money, a very nice product indeed !

Upgraded from the E-500. Nice features, perfect size, quality you would expect form Olympus.

I've owned Olympus e-1, e-500, and e-510 bodies. The e-620 is a big step up in terms of image quality. The new 12.3 MP sensor handles noise better at higher ISO and has better dynamic range than the e-510. I like the brighter LCD and the additional focus points and the viewfinder is better than the e-500 or e-510. I primarily shoot portraits and some weddings. I bought the HLD-5 battery grip for extended battery life and also a better grip and ease of use when shooting in portrait orientation. The body is quite small. I don't have large hands and the body felt a little small without the grip. It has a nice heft and feel with the grip.

I was looking to upgrade from my e-500 while staying within the Olympus system. I couldn't be more pleased with the 620. The feature set that is built into this entry level DSLR is amazing. I was keenly interested in the more refined autofocus system and with the IS system and have been pleased with the results using these features. ( I took some shots of the Moon that the 500 just wouldn't have gotten , not without a tripod anyway). It matches up well with my 50-200 f/2.8-3.5 (non SWD) as well as the kit lenses that came the the e-500. The E-620 does suffer a little in very low-light situations, but well within reason; after all it is NOT an E3. My only complaints are two minor ones . First, it is noisier at high ISOs than I would like. Secondly, and this is only a minor annoyance because I already have an Olympus - the 620 takes a different battery than the 500. That means doubling up on everything; batteries, chargers, etc. The fact that I'm keeping my 500 body in the bag should tell you how I feel about Olympus products and I'm lookig forward to many more pleasant shots with my 620. A very good purchase as a first camera or as an upgrade within the system.

I've been using the E-500 for three years and I've been happy with Olympus. I upgraded to the E-620 primarily for the increase to 12 MegaPixel sensor which gives me the ability to crop tighter and print larger. I also got image stabilization (+++) and crisper image, and new sighting options. Also improved ISO management. Olympus is a relatively inexpensive way to get a high quality DSLR. And B&H has deals that can't be beat.

I bought an Olympus E-500 a few years ago with a kit quality Zuiko 14-45mm f3.5-5.6 lens. Pedestrian at best. But making the grade into the world of DSLR cameras from the point and shoot 1 megapixel world made that stock lens just fine. After a while, though, I found it just didn't give me the crisp clear performance of the OM-1 Zuiko lenses of my film days. I chose this 50mm (100mm equiv to 35mm days) lens to fill the need for product photography for online auctioning, and general portraiture. When I looked through the viewfinder, I was astounded by the difference in the clarity between it, and the slow stock lens. The manual focus is a smooth as my old OM Zuiko lenses. The only analogy the pops into my mind for comparison is like going from standard TV to HDTV. If you are ready to step it up and take some photographs and not just snapshots, I recommend this lens. The macro capability is a real plus. Don't forget the filter.
