Olympus Evolt E 500 Digital Camera

I was looking for an affordable macro lens for my Olympus Evolt 500 and I found it! My main hobby is fly tying and then I photograph them. The clarity and detail are amazing! The details in the feathers are unbelievable. I have shared my photos with some pro photographers and they were impressed with the image quality. A definite buy! 5 |

I use it on an Olympus Evolt 510. It does everything they said it would and it's easy to use. I added a diffuser and that makes it even better. 5 |

I am essentially an event photographer and much of my work is done inside buildings. The FL50R along with my Olympus Evolt 520 seem to be the ideal combination for that type of work. I never have to wait for recycling and the power it puts out is incredible. 5 |

I use this lens on all my cameras, but mostly on my Evolt E-330. The combination looks like a very nonthreatening big P&S camera which is often useful. The lens is incredibly small and so can always go in your bag or pocket. It is a very good performer, way better than average as all the Zuiko's are, but it is standard grade, not high or super high. Of course that's reflected in the very reasonable price. The only downside is the true loser of the screw-in lens cap. Yes it makes the lens a couple of mm thinner. But is extremely difficult to use, especially if you have a UV or polarizing filter attached. Suggestion: get the cheapest snap in cap you can find or spend $6.96 on the Olympus LC-43 snap in cover (made for P&S cameras) and have the word Olympus on the cover. There's no lens hood. Olympus apparently plans to sell on for $39.95. I've found no need for lens hood on this lens in extensive testing. All in all, a great lens at a very useful focal length. And too cute and too neat. 5 |

I have this type of folding lens hood for my Canon film camera and wanted the same type of lens hood for my Olympus digital camera that I use quite a bit, as I didn't care for the hard lens hood it came with. I also ordered the wide angle lens hood for the digital also, but haven't used that one yet. With the 'folding rubber lens hood', I can leave it on my camera all the time, till I'm ready to use it. I've used it when taking close up shots of flowers and it helps with blocking the glare. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants something quick and easy to use. 5 |

I have been an 35mm SLR user since 1964 and an Olympus digital SLR user since 2004. I have eight Oly digital lenses and this 14-35mm f2 lens is the ultimate. Output at all f-stops from 2 -11 at any focal length are spectacular. You will not notice too great a difference on a 4x6 print; but on an 11x14 and 13x19 prints you will notice, as they are phenomonal. Clarity and color accuracy are superb. I thought the 11-22mm lens was excellent; but this 14-35 lens is in a class by itself. Photos with great contrast are easily handled. Indoor low light photos are a piece of cake. Other reviews of this lens have criticized its low light focusing. When I tried the S-AF focus option on the E-3 in low to very low lighting, the focusing was definitely slow; BUT when I switched to C-AF focus option, the focus was dead on and immediate with all focusing and exposure options at all f-stops I tried. In other words, there is no focus problem when you use the camera properly. If you buy this lens, it will be on your camera 80-90% of the time, except when you are shooting wildlife, distance sports, etc. Then you can use Olympus' superb telephoto 50-200mm lens (100-400mm, 35mm equivalent)--couple it with the great Oly 2x extender for a 200-800mm, 35mm equivalent. Folks, don't believe all the negative comments about the small sensor used in the Olympus DSLRs -- when you can print fantastic 13x19 photos (and larger sizes, I'm sure, but 13x19 is the largest my Epson R1800 will print), why bother with a full frame Nikon or Canon beast, unless you'r a professional sports photog and money is no object. For the rest of the camera world, the Olypmus E-system with fabulous digital-specific lenses are way more than adequate. I can't say enough positive comments about this one-of-a-kind lens. You will not be disappointed with this lens. 5 |

I recently purchased an Olympus ep2 camera and the Hadley Digital Bag for it and the optional lens too. This shoulder pad is an excellent addition to this already steller quality bag. The Pad keeps 'slippage' to a non issue. I would recommend this Pad as a great addition to an already great bag, I just wish that at this price point it would have been included. 5 |

I purchased an Olympus PEN-F as a personal collector item. No I'm not a collector, but I wanted this camera because of its superb performance and vintage appeal in a modern digital camera. It is a silver trim body to which I added a silver Kit lens and a brown leather 1/2 case. It looks fantastic and since it was one of the few digital cameras offering an old fashioned screw type remote shutter release, I had to add the final touch. That showed up in the form of a beautiful, natural wood, Soft Shutter Release button. The PEN-F is now complete. TAH DAAH!! 5 |
