Olympus Xa2 35Mm Rangefinder Film Camera

I'm an old-school 35mm film kind of guy, but eventually graduated to digital about 10 years ago. I've found the miniature point & shoots are capable of producing great results for every day shots and when travelling, but, of course, typically lack the ability to be creative. When the Micro Four Third cameras gained more popularity with semi-professionals and serious amatuers, I loved the idea of acquiring a compact camera with manual controls, a relatively large sensor, capable of using interchangeable lenses. Initially, I planned on buying a Panasonic GF-1, but when it was discontined (what a huge blunder that was), I looked more seriously at the Olympus line-up. With the added refinements and new features the E-PL2 offers over the E-PL1, it was a no-brainer. I've had it just a week and am still reading the manual every night -- trying to get a grip on the incredible capabilities of this camera. I'm heading to Honolulu in 3 weeks and can't wait to use it there. The engineers at Olympus have done a magnificent job in terms of style, design, control layout, and overall build quality. Buying the E-PL2 was one of the smartes purchases I've ever made.

Got this hood for my 49mm lens that I (still) use on my Olympus OM-1 35mm SLR film camera. Fit & finish is great & works just fine.

If you are a Leica fan, a 35mm film shooter, and believe in the virtues of the rangefinder system, the MP will satisfy your needs. It is a lot of money, but it is a brilliant piece of gear that will do what you want it to do. I use two other Leica cameras, M6's, so this the perfect addition to my system. You will be glad you made the purchase.

I purchased the Leica MP with a 35mm F/2 Summicron and use this for general walk-around/travel photography. I don't consider myself a street photographer, but I've been intrigued with rangefinder cameras for quite some time. Build quality is amazing. The camera feels like a solid block of metal. I would have preferred a match needle meter instead of the LED lights, but there's really not much to complain about. I'm a left-eye shooter, so things can get a little uncomfortable with the winder, but I'm used to that from my older cameras. Holding the camera properly takes some getting used to. I found myself covering the rangefinder mirror on the right side by accident on a few occassions. Also, I wish faster shutterspeeds were available, but I understand there are limitations due to the type of shutter used. Overall, the MP is a pleasure to use, and is quickly becoming my favorite camera.

This pouch fits my Leica M rangefinder with a 35mm lens & hood attached perfectly. I avoid dedicated camera bags, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. With my camera protected with this pouch, I can safely toss it into a knapsack along with other stuff.

I actually wanted this to lock the shutter open in an old rangefinder 35mm camera that I am rehabilitating so I could free up the aperture leaves. The lock feature works really we'll. I saw a lot of not so well rated cables on another famous site for more money. This one is great for the price.

I bought My first 35mm camera fifty years ago, it was a Yashica Electro 35. It was a rangefinder and it was a fun camera, except when I took pictures of the inside of the lens cap. Years before the Fuji X-100 was introduced I was searching for a digital rangefinder that had a decent size sensor, and I was amazed that outside of a Leica, one did not exist. When the fuji X-100 came out I jumped at it. I have been shooting with different fuji's including the X-T2 & X-T3 but this Fuji x100V with the flip-out screen is now my favorite camera.

Lightweight, comfortable bag for a street photographer. It can easily fit a 35mm rangefinder camera, 3 lenses and a double-lensed Rolleiflex. I t has a spare pocket for a bottle and I really like that a a water is always at a hand!

Good snug fit on the lens of my Olympus 35rc rangefinder. Not much else to say.
