I had bought the YC onion tripod and I'm Extremely happy with that This monopod is very easy to adjust and very sturdy. Just push the button and flip the lever to raise or lower. Great product

The star feature of the YC Onion Pineta monopod is the single-step lever that allows for the monopod to extend, adjust, lock and unlock seamlessly. You press the safety disengage button and flip the lever up essentially in one movement, set the monopod to where you want it, and then push the lever back down. You're set! It's a similar concept made popular by Sachtler Flowtech tripods. But I think it's so much more impactful when you're using a monopod for one simple reason: you don't have to bend down or crouch to extend the 3 sections twice (once to unlock, and then again to lock in place). This makes the monopod a truly nimble support solution for run and gun filmmaking. I love combining run and gun with fixed-off shots. Mixing handheld footage with fixed shots give you a greater range of cinematic expression and this monopod accelerates that type of filmmaking. The only weakness of this monopod is the ballhead/knob of the tripod feet. First of all, I don't like knobs because they don't visually tell you how locked off they are. Second, you have to bend down to twist it. Third, the knob is rather small and so you have to use quite a bit of effort to make sure it is tight. Companies like iFootage are creating tripod feet with levers that engage the lock. There's pros and cons to this design. For example, the lever lock tripod feet only locks in the 90 degree center position. You can't lock it in any other position. I've tried it and it's not a fully developed solution yet. I prefer the ability to tighten down the monopod slightly off center to either balance against the terrain or balance the center weight of the gravity. Anyways, the good news is that the feet are modular and I am hoping YC Onion releases a true pedal/lever system that removes the need to ever bend down for adjusting the angle of the monopod.

The YC Onion YoloBox Ultra Cage is of excellent quality, fits exact and performs perfectly. I am not only protecting the Ultra, but now have many options to attach other gear. The only thing I wish, is that there would be 1/4 20 threads on the top portion as I use my ultra a lot as a monitor affixed to the top of my camera. That way I could have my HDMI cables exit the bottom since the Ultra is able to flip the orientation in the settings.

I own several Edelkrone, Konova and YC Onion sliders (automated and not) and this is by far the best of the bunch for manual slides. Love the ability to use either the 2ft or 3ft track alone or together, and can't feel any bump when connected. So easy and fast to setup and use, but best experienced with equally premium sticks to make the entire process smooth (Satchler flowtech etc). Now it's up to my technique to be able to pan while sliding smoothly, but I also love that there's the option to add motorization to this beast. It's not cheap, but when you compare it to other sliders in the 5' and above range, this is lighter, more versatile and faster to setup.

I was concerned about constantly plugging and unplugging HDMI cables in my YOLO box. They really weren't meant for that type of use. I was also concerned about the possibility of breaking the HDMI jacks should someone trip or otherwise pull on a cable on location. The YC Onion YoloBox Cage solves these concerns and also brings additional functionality. The cage itself is crafted of beautifully machined and anodized aluminum. It's held together with chrome plated hex-head bolts and secured to the YOLO Box via its 1/4 mounting socket. Hex tools are included, along with extra bolts. The right side of the cage has four 1/4 mounting holes and a cold-shoe mount for accessories. The left side of the cage has four more 1/4 mounting holes, and the bottom has five 1/4 mounting holes and the back has two more additional 1/4 mounting holes. You can mount just about anything you can imagine to the cage. The top of the cage has aluminum cable stays that hold your cables securely in place. The stays are secured in place with knurled aluminum thumb screws. Everything about this cage is high quality. I purchased several 6-inch HDMI extension cables that I leave permanently attached to the YOLO Box. This eliminates my concern about wearing out the HDMI jacks from constantly inserting and removing cables. I just plug my long HDMI cables into the extension cables when Im setting up on location. The YC Onion cage does add a bit of weight and girth to the YOLO Box, and the permanently mounted HDMI extension cables make YOLO a bit less compact. But I knew this going in and it's not an issue for me. I'm entirely pleased with this purchase. Please note that YC Onion makes a cage specifically for each of the three YOLO Box configurations; original, pro and mini. They are all different cages. Fortunately, B&H stocks cages for each of the YOLO Box configurations.
