There have been several people that report that this camera does not work in the cold. It certainly does but UNDERSTAND that this camera needs more wattage when the internal heater turns on. I suspect that in cold temperatures the internal heater turns on requiring more power. If your POE power device cannot supply the POE+ power (extra wattage)needed for the internal heater then the camera will simply shut off. This is normal. Be sure that your POE power device can handle a POE+ camera. Do your research!! This is a POE+ camera needing and requiring a 30 watt POE+ supply. NOT a regular POE. If necessary, plug this camera into a POE+ switch Not into your NVR directly. This is what I had to do as I had several POE+ cameras and on a very cold night, the NVR failed because it could not supply enough current to keep the internal heaters working on my POE+ cameras. As I said, DO YOUR RESEARCH. This is a great camera but it needs a POE+ supply!!! Most little indoor cameras that are POE don't have high current internal heaters. This camera DOES!! --Greg-- 5 |
