This is the best softbox for a photographer on a budget. It's easy to set up and can be used with speedlights or with a strobe, which makes it versatile. Another thing that allow this to softbox to be versatile is that you can either point the flash toward the rear of the box or you can face the flash toward the subject for a slightly different look. I also like to pull the diffusion up and use it like a silver umbrella. The soft box has two problems however. Like others have said you CAN NOT tilt the box down. AT ALL. This may be a deal breaker for most people. I'm not really bothered by this since I have an arm. If you don't have one I recommend you pick one up. It will make using this softbox and any other piece of lighting equipment easier to use. The second problem, and it is more of an annoyance than a problem, is that you must pull up the diffusion material in order to access the controls on your light. If your strobes operate from a power pack then you don't have to worry about this. Everyone else will be pulling open the front of the box to make adjustments. For me this was annoying until I realize that the material doesn't have to be perfectly aligned with the velcro in order to light properly. You can actual open it and just let it fall when you're done so for me this wasn't a big deal. Another minor thing is that Westcott does not make a grid for this size box. I've found a few people online and ... who make grids this size for $40 or so. What I may do is make my own. If I do I'm sure that I'd be more annoyed at having to open the front to access the flash controls. But, all in all I am very, very happy with my purchase.

This is an excellent production slate for those that aren't using state-of-the-art time code equipment in production and post. It produces a solid clap for manual video/audio sync and the color and luminosity reference marks are valuable in post. BUT BUT BUT Even though Birns & Sawyer say it's dry-erase compatible, it's not. I used bog standard Expo dry erase markets on it and needed to make a correction 10 seconds later. It would not come off with either water or alcohol-based solvents. Elbow grease doesn't work. Dry erase chemically bonds with acrylic surface. If this happens to you, don't panic. It *can* be removed with a micro-abrasive sponge like Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Use something like this before using your fingernail or scratching it. Otherwise this is a wonderful little slate which is highly functional and impresses the clients :-).

This lens is a state of the art masterpiece of optical engineering. An excellent choice for portraits and general low light photography with the M8. It excels at all apertures and distances including wide open. It is a joy to use and finally a 50/1.4 lens that can be used in any situation without worry about contrast or quality loss wide open and at all apertures. I have been using it extensively for 2 years now and along with the 35/1.4 ASPH that makes a perfect set for almost any situation. For shooters who need wide angle you could also add the 28/2 ASPH, but I don't like to change lenses on the M8 because of dust.

B&H photo did it again. The ordered product arrived as promised, and performed as described in the B&H ad. The fit and finish is what I expect in a more expensive piece of photo equipment. The instructions are clear and that is when and where I saw the feature. The instructions clearly state the lubrication technique when cleaning and lubrication of the steel shaft is required. When dirty and dry the smooth operation it once had when new is lost. In the 'Using Your Clamp' section the instruction clearly state this operation, graphically and clear text. There are three, open, closed (the number I expected) and halfway open. The halfway open is just that, 90 degrees from the base with a clear detent indicating it really is halfway. Fully closed, the clamp and plate are tightly paired, not movable, fully open the tripod/monopod and camera/lens are easily removed. Halfway allows the plate to slide within the jaws of the clamp and will move easily both ways until it strikes the safety stops. Read fully adjustable and reproducable settings, using the very clear markings on the clamp. Big plus here; you can not lift the mounted camera/lens and it will not allow expensive equipment to escape to the ground! This feature may be described elsewhere but I located it in the instructions. Five stars is nearly impossible to achieve in my book, this clamp is definitely 5 star material.

Picked up the 11-24 at the Post Office; took few shots of the steering wheel; and drove right into the Talkeetna mountains. Having used fisheyes for year I thought I would know what to do with an 11mm rectilinear...but this lens is different. My instant favorite lens for off-trail Alaska landscapes. Image quality and sharpness are excellent. Distortion is very low. Makes incredible panoramas that don't look stretched out. Heavy...but it's also a 20, 17, 14,13 and 12mm! Once in my hands weight doesn't matter! Use the 11mm most but love the zoom!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the fact it comes with everything you need to open and insert the AirTag. Another part I love is the closing - it cannot be opened unless you use the Allen key! It’s very sturdy when attaching to luggage and so far no one has messed with it. Will definitely buy more in the future for additional AirTags.
