Options For Room Air Conditioners

I often record in my apartment or at the studio where I work - there is a ton of background noise like traffic, air conditioners, and creaky floors. The high pass filter for perfect for filtering those consistent background hums. Of course, a little fancy editing too. This is the third Air free that I have purchased from B&H. I chose the Tulip design because it handles one room well. If you're air circulation is good it will handle two rooms. I have one of these in the kitchen one of the living room and one of my bedroom. The change in the air was noticeable. Easier maintenance than anything else I have ever tried.

Why would you pay potentially twice as much for this air-cushioned light stand? That's a question I asked myself as I compared my available options. I have never been a brand loyalist, per se, and so I was very curious to find the range of prices and options that existed when it comes to air-cushioned light stands. Even among those with similar load capacities and with similar maximum heights, the price variability can be upwards of 100%!! After trying and returning some of those less expensive options, I decided to pull the plug and purchased a couple of these stands. For my needs (wedding and event videography) these things are perfect. Not only are they air-cushioned, have a high payload capacity, and a max height of 12', these stands just feel solid. It's hard to explain, but despite not having an overwhelming weight to them, these stands almost feel like they are manufactured with thicker tubes? Regardless of whether or not that's true, these are extremely well-manufactured, well-designed pieces of gear that I expect to last for quite some time. Oh, and I didn't even mention the locking feature. While the locking tabs that allow these stands to stack neatly together may ultimately be their achilles heel, if you are cautious and take care of your gear, even those tabs won't just break off without a good bit of force.
