Optiplex 7010 Ram Capacity

Bought this Dell Optiplex 7010 to replace an older Dell computer that was getting old and slow. This new one is much smaller than my old unit, runs very quiet and stays cool. First time I have used Windows 11 but I found it pretty intuitive and the initial setup was very easy even for this low tech guy. Can't believe how fast this computer boots up! My only complaint, and this is a Microsoft issue I think, is that the installed media player has no provision to rip CD's that I can find. (Told you I am low tech). That is the main reason I bought a computer with an optical drive. I ended up having to download the legacy media player from the Microsoft store and now I am a happy camper. Great machine so far.

Works great on a Dell OptiPlex 3000 micro PC that comes with a single 8GB ram stick. Adding this doubles the ram and also enables dual channel mode.

Used this in an OptiPlex with an 8th Gen i5. Also upgraded ram. The drive is faster than the computer. Zero lag, zero space issues.

This RAM is exactly as described and works perfectly in my 27 iMac. I have now maxed out its capacity and it works very well.

Trough the years I spent a lot of time snoozing in front of my MACs waiting for them to render. I always blamed the computers for being slow. Recently I bought the fastest iMAC and loaded it with 32GB of RAM only to find out that the system was using a small part of the total capacity. So I researched thunderbolt drives on the WEB thinking that maybe it wasn't the computer's fault but my hard drives were too slow. I WAS CORRECT! The G-RAID I bought lets the computer work much faster, now I see the processor working at 90% of capacity and the RAM is up there too! End result: this drive paid for itself in hours, I can be more creative because I no longer fall at sleep in front of the computer, doubled my income and have time to spend with the family. Bottom line now I won't even consider anything else for video editing. Ten stars!

About the motherboard, certainly it checks all the checkboxes. Setting things up takes a little longer for the first timers like me. Manual was helpful, but it could've been better. Very powerful motherboard with great set of features necessary for today's desktops. I'm very impressed with the number ports available for extending the storage in the board. I think there was scope for more RAM capacity, though I can't complain about it as it suffices for my need. Competition has mother board with less features but big on RAM capacity. Dell is reliable, and the Optiplex 7020 gives me what I need in a desktop computer.

Installed into a Dell OptiPlex 3070, worked great!

Used two of these on a Dell 7010 i5-3470 with the built-in Intel 2500 graphics, together with the built-in VGA port, to run THREE VGA monitors simultaneously under Windows 10 . Need to disable the Dell driver and then get the driver from Intel as Dell disable 3-screen functionality. I was a little sceptical at first whether these would do the job, as many 'active' adapters are a lot more expensive. An added bonis is that these don't need a separate USB port for power.

We continue to use these drives when upgrading all of our Dell Optiplex systems. Proved to be the most compatible and reliable so far.
