I use this stand (one of five) for overhead miking various orchestral instruments and sections. It is tall enough, with the boom extended, to cover the high winds and strings in a band/orchestra, to supplement a center stereo pair and give better balance with the back row brass and winds. It is skinny enough to be unobtrusive placed in the middle of an orchestra or band. I found a suitable swivel at B&H to hang a stereo bar from a horizontal boom. A boom helps keep the microphones out of the way for video. If you don't need a 9' reach, the 40 reach of this stand might do the trick. 5 |

I use this for orchestral recording and get good results. AT does not offer matched pair, but they are well matched despite I received mics that have serial no. of 263 & 1454. 5 |

This stand is well constructed and should provide years of use. I use it primarily as an elevated microphone stand for orchestral recordings. The leg system is a bit unconventional when folded but works smoothly. This is a tall stand and should be used with sandbag weights on the base for safety. 5 |
