Installed 2 of these, the first factor that helped in organizing my library of multimedia files. 5 |

I purchased this camera for a specific task.....photographing items for inclusion in a digital library. It works perfectly for that task, but I have discovered so many more uses for it, too! This product is well worth the investment for use in a library setting! 5 |

I needed to expand my Aperture library as my large format digital images had maxed out my hard drive. Easy to install, easy to relocate originals from my Aperture library to the G-RAID and now I have enough room to upload more images. It really helped organize my files and gives me a double back-up in addition to a separate external HD and a cyberspace backup. 5 |

We are a small research library that occasionally needs to scan our books and articles for our digital collections. The scanning software has some oddities (I had to fiddle with some of the settings to see my preview and change other settings to prevent it from overwriting previous scans), but it worked great after I figured it out. 600dbi archival TIFFs in seconds! I called Plusteck to help with the settings and they were fantastic! Answered on the first ring and they were very helpful. Very little, if any, post-processing required. Relative to the amount it would cost to get our books professionally scanned and edited, this scanner is a steal. 5 |

I use this HD for backing my entire current digital photo library. I just plugged it in and started transferring files. No hassles whatsoever. It also matches my MacBook Pro. 5 |

My iTunes library is huge. I like having it stored on at least two, preferably three hard drives. It took me many hours to rip all my CDs and manually find the cover artwork since iTunes is pretty lousy about doing that part. I definitely don't want to lose all that so I turned to Western Digital. I already had a 4TB WD EHD on an older PC holding my iTunes library and purchased this one to replicate my library and use on a newer PC, so I have two working copies just in case. I now have plenty of room and can rip any new CDs in ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) to provide the best sound quality possible. Western Digital is my go to brand because of 1. Their reliablity, 2. Their warranty (just in case), and 3. Because their Elements series does NOT encrypt the data on the drive. Highly recommended if you need additional storage. 5 |

I use this to archvie 4K digital cinema data, using a tape library to back up a RAID. The tapes are expensive and the process is slow and cumbersome, but it is probably the most stable format for archiving digital data. If you are developing a new system, you'll probably want LTO-6, but if you're already on LTO-5, this product is just fine. Keep in mind that eventually you will need custom labels, so buy a bunch of them in advance. 5 |

I am scanning nearly four decades of film to digital and organizing my negatives, moving them from sleeves in envelopes to pages in binders. I like that it has a section at the top for storing information about the negatives. I will be buying more of these in the future. 5 |
