We have purchased two of these so far to use primarily as NVRs for a large number of IP cameras on a school campus. Licensing costs aside, Synology Surveillance Station does a really nice job making it easy to set up and scale with the number of cameras you have. We linked two together, making one the primary and the other a secondary target for recordings. Surveillance Station records direct-to-disk, and does a decent job of adjusting camera settings directly using ONVIF. We have about 50+ cameras running at resolutions from 1280x720 up to 2560x1600, some PTZ, some ceiling-mount fisheyes, mostly wide angle fixed, and everything works pretty well. We were even able to use the manual camera configuration to use some uncommon double-lens cameras. With about 26 cameras assigned to each RS422+, we see about 20-25% CPU on each on average during a typical day. We can comfortably handle 32 per unit, and supposedly up to 40 if needed. With x4 6TB drives in each set in SHR-1 (equivalent to RAID5) we have about a month or so of footage retention. The licensing is a little pricey at $50 per camera (unless you buy in bulk from some european IP camera shops...), but it is perpetual and I think worth the expense. Using two of these units, 8 cheap drives from eBay (luckily these do not suffer from the Synology whitelist) and a bunch of camera licenses, for around under $5000 I was able to build and set up a really easy to use and reliable NVR system with plenty of future expandability. 2-3 users are regularly connected on their desktops without issue. 5 |

The Lorex A14 IP Wired Dome Security Camera system works great. The pictures are clear and let you zoom in for a better view. This is the best camera system that I have had. 5 |

The Synology Surveillance Station software is the best security camera software we have used, having tried two before this. It is more costly having to buy licenses for each camera you want to use but at least the licenses are transferrable between hardware upgrades and not bound to a specific camera's MAC Address or hardware. The software is very smooth and easy to use with advanced feature available if needed. It has otherwise been very plug-n-play switching over. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quite some time now I have research security cameras and since there so many on the market I was looking for a camera with easy set up and some type of technical support and it would be an additional bonus if it was cost efficient. Then I came across the Eufy Security Outdoor Camera and it is a great asset to making our home feel secure & safe. The camera was packaged very well & the set up was at a minimal. Notifications were instant with the Eufy Security Outdoor Camera and the picture, sound, and light are very clear with excellent image quality. Also the night and spotlight responsive provides visible setting. I am ecstatic about the Eufy Security Outdoor Camera and would definitely recommend it. 5 |

I really like the Synology NAS! Setup was easy, I just watched a YouTube video and I was set. It appeared on my home network and I was able to begin copying files to it right away. Pro tip: Assign an IP address to the MAC address in your home router so it has the same IP address for the rest of its life. 5 |

I needed to connect an outdoor wireless security camera to Wifi but the signal on the main router wasn't strong enough to penetrate a thick masonry wall. The TP-link solved this problem. I set it up inside at the wall needing signal penetration but in line with the router. It worked perfectly - having a booster closer to the camera did the trick. 5 |

I'm using this microSD card on my outdoor security camera, and it's perfect for my needs because it's wearproof and temperature-proof. It came with an SD adapter, which is a great bonus, making it easy to transfer footage to my computer whenever needed. 5 |

After using the Synology Router for two days I realized something... Synology's strategy for making a router is simple.. instead of making 19 different routers like Netgear or ASUS with often overlapping features, making you wonder which one to buy they decided on a simple strategy: Make ONE router and make it be VERY good. And they deliverer with their product. I get WiFi transfer speeds of up to 600Mbit/s on a 1G Ethernet service line. The router also has adaptive security management that can monitor and block any suspicious traffic from NAT STUN to privilege escalations to pretty much any hack you can think of and those security databases are updated regularly so you always have the latest security scan updates. You can combine this with the MR2200ac mesh router and have whole-home network coverage. Synology absolutely created a Ferrari of a router at a Chevy price point. 5 |
